Giving Sprites EXP

I'm trying to level up the Watering Team (even though I just started, so I only have 2) - I'm currently on SPR 13.

The thing is, I'm an "early riser" in the sense that I like to get all my chores done first thing in the morning, so I use my necklace to water my crops. This is mostly because my first HM game was AWL, so I'm still used to watering 2x a day (once in morning, once in afternoon)

I only have a 3x3 patch (9 squares) of cabbage seeds planted at the moment, since I plan to put more focus on crop-farming much later, when I have basements, so I don't think I would have to worry about expecting "too much" from them.

Pretty much, can they still earn EXP even if I do the watering for them? Or do I need to wait until just before I go to bed to do the watering? Also, will rain prevent them from earning EXP for the day?

(I'm aware that it's not a "points" system necessarily, but their bar just fills up over time as they get better. I just want to make sure said bar WILL start filling up... I'll need help when I upgrade my watering can)

-You should only water your crops once a day, your just wasting your stamina if you do it twice
-To fill the EXP bar, the sprites should be the one watering for you
-If it rains they won't gain EXP, I think since they didn't water anything. Like if you don't use your watering can your can won't any gain EXP.

You don't need to water twice, this game didn't have the second-water-faster-growing method.

Oh yeah, they will gain EXP if they are the one who water your crops. But I think they will water any tilled square, too? Correct me if I'm wrong :-|

lol s/he watered twice in AWL, not for DS, they're just saying they are used to watering twice :)

and I think your right about the sprites watering any tilled land cupcake, but I'm not 100%.
I say if you're paying the medals for the sprites, make them do the work and use your stamina for something else.
If by 9:00 you notice there is still land that needs watered because the sprites stink, just water it then and it will be fine by tomorrow. :)

also just letting you know, if you don't raise the sprites affection as their experience raises, so will the cost of medals to hire them. Raising their affection helps to lower the cost.
The easiest gift is flour or matching grasses to each color of sprite.
flour is +3FP
grass is +5FP (i think 5?)

I know with the fishing team I wasn't cool with giving them the snazzy indigo grass so I just bought flour cause it was cheap and gave it to them.
I WANT ALL THE GRASS

Don't give stacks, it only counts as one gift rather than three!

Yah don't even give them 3.
Just give them one a day :)

I shouldn't have abbreviated without letting you know what it stood for, my bad!
FP = Friendship points
LP = Love points, those are what the bachelor(ettes) will have.
Giving a sprite one flour will raise their friendship points by 3.
Color grasses that match their suits will raise their FP by 5.
The max amount of FP is 255.

Just one flour per day! :)
No stacking because it doesn't count for anything.

Stacking means to me when you have a quantity of 3 flours in 1 slot.
That is a stack.
But giving a sprite 3 flours (1 stack) will only count for 1 flour.
So you don't want to waste your money and flour.

Just give each sprite 1 flour per day and you'll be good. :)

Wow, I just tested this, I gave a sprite 16 flour in a stack via the Sprite tree and they got 16 FP, and I did not know that. I am going to remember that for my next playthrough.

You're welcome, Chime9~
Actually, I've always give them stacks via dolls, coz I'm lazy to approach each of them and give them 1 flour each time

I always use the dolls, but I don't really give gifts anymore except Baby Sprite.
