are corrupted save files common in this one?

after searching the internet, i've found that people that have the issue tend to have it frequently, while some have never seen the problem. is it really all that common? the ones on gamefaqs said that the only DS harvest moon to get a corrupted file for them was HMDS, not this one.

i ask, because i don't want to be playing through the game, get incredibly far, and then have to start over again... which i probably wouldn't do. is there a way to copy the save file? maybe even save over another file? that would be one way to avoid the corruption glitch.

I've never experience any corrupted file in my HM collection, but I think every game can corrupt.

No, you can't copy your first save file to the second slot. From IoH to ToTT, you can't but I'm not sure for ANB one..

The most common corrupted HM is the DS. They have most glitches and typos. But, you can save in both files. So you still have back up if the first one corrupted

not what i was hoping to hear, but thanks.

see, i already bought the game, but i don't have a DS at the moment to play it. mine went bad on me, so i'm getting another.

well, i'm not going to get out of it what i put into it, financialy speaking, so i guess i can just take the advice i seen in those posts, and not save under certain circumstances. i mean, if it was as widespread as the glitches in HMDS, i'm sure natsume would have at least TRIED to fix it.

well, i'm willing to listen to more input on the matter, so if anyone else has an oppinion on the matter, i'm all ears.

All HM games can corrupt, I'm pretty sure, but all games after HMDS seem less likely. IoH sounds like it also corrupts fairly often. I've never had any HM corrupt on me, though, and I don't believe I've read about SI corrupting. But there's always a chance your save will go, no matter what series and game it is.

well, like i said, it seems that those that DO have the glitch tend to keep it in most cases. one guy i read got a new game from natsume (i think it was natsume...) and it glitched on him too. guess he was saving at the wrong place and time? anyway, other one said it quit when he got married. said the game kept locking up on him, but after marriage, it quit.

...maybe these guys are confusing SI with IOH? they said something about not bothering to raise the rest of the islands, but i think you can do that in both, right? if they are, then that's kinda good for me. i had IOH once, but i couldn't STAND the touch only controls. i'll put up with them in the two DS zelda games, but that's it.

anyone else?

This hasn't ever corrupted on me but I don't play it much (Compaired to other HM's, this sucks imo)
I'm lucky enough not to have had any corruption.
Yet.

HMDS drove me mad to the point of insanity that I actually put it down altogether and stopped playing on it! Sunshine Islands, though, I've never experienced any corrupt files. Of course, there are a few odd glitches in there (Julia pretty much gliding across the floor in her house is one that I admit kinda creeped me out o.O) and a few typos here and there, but nothing too desruptive in my experience.

i actually managed to do this with the main character in grand bazaar! it involved bouncing back and forth on the bridge railings in town during a festival. when i finaly quit bouncing, i don't remember if i tried to jump about the same time i hit the ground or not, but either way, i was gliding across the ground arround town! strange, huh?

but yeah, from the way it sounds, not many people seem to have trouble with this one. i do understand why people think it stinks, with the sun and water system, but hey, each HM is unique. and frankly, when the watering system pesters me, i either deal with it, or just do the minimum. i make money either way, right?

thanks for the input. but if anyone can replicate my grand bazaar glitch, that'd be something to see!

this happened to me too! \(>o<)/
It's like at that waterfall area where you bounce between that rock on the bridge and your MC is instantly stuck like that and she's gliding with her arms stretched o.o

My save file didn't glitch, but my game totally just crashed...I didn't save it for a couple of in game days too so I'm a bit annoyed. I was just walking across the bridge on my farm and it froze -_-..

I wish there were some statistics, or more information on the file corruption from frozen games.
I've had this happen to me before, in Harvest Moon DS Cute, and I was so devastated, I refuse to ever touch the game again.
I'm in my third year on HMSI, and I haven't had any problems, with glitches let alone file corruptions. I have a DS lite, and it freezes on very rare occasions, but never while saving in HMSI.
I stumbled upon other people experiencing it though on the internet, and now I'm really nervous! I'm so far in the game, and working on collecting all the recipes and completing my shipping list and raising the last island, but now I'm sooo nervous to put the time into it.
I feel like, with previous harvest moon games and with this one, a certain type of gamer is more likely to experience file corruption.
Like, the "completionists" who collect everything tend to experience more glitches than the "minimalists" that just play through it. I wonder if it has anything to do with putting more data on the save file?
That's all speculation though. I have no proof!
