Debating what to use, considering I like to stay in the "theme" of the game. Konohana is my preferred village, any suggestions?

For Konohana, I went for very East Asian names, seeing as the village seems to be based around the Pacific Rim (most obviously Japan and China).
I named my MC for Konohana Madoka, and the farm "Laugh" in Japanese, Warate.
I was going for the "Laughing" Farm. It was kind of cute at the time.

So, I'd suggest naming the character something from a favorite anime/manga, and the farm after an adjective or other descriptive word in Chinese or Japanese, like Feng Fu (abundant; Mandarin) or Suteki (lovely; Japanese).

Personally, I have Gracie and her farm is Honey Farm. She's in Bluebell, and it just seemed to fit! I love the idea above though, very creative!

You can do colors, spices, candy, ect. Those are some popular ones I've seen. I personally go by Aero, so I try and relate everything to air. You can pick something that's special to you ^_^

Actually, in this game items go bad after a certain time. You also have extremely limited storage. I'd suggest you only keep items you're going to cook fairly quickly, and items that don't spoil (such as items for building). There are requests and if you turn in a less than perfectly fresh item, it costs heavy on your request points (stack correctly--old items onto the new--to keep things perfect). Honestly, the only reason to keep anything less than perfect is if you're gifting it to someone (and even then, they won't take rotten items). Also, you really don't get any bonuses for befriending anyone. Talking to them daily is more than enough unless your dying to see some random cut scenes XD The person you want to marry is the exception of course ;)

I named my character Rae because that is my nickname among family and friends, and the farm is Yummy because I do a LOT of rp and fanfiction, and that character loves cooking. On my second file I named him Justin after one of my cousins (and in my story Rae and Justin are cousins) and named his farm Pro Farm because he tends to use a lot of internet slang like "epic" "pro" "fail" etc.

I named my character Katie. Because that's my name!
I'd probably name my Konohana farm Blossom, because it's always so beautiful during the blossom festival!

I didn't go for any theme. Named my female character "Haine" (manga character... bad manga though), my male file "Takuya", because I like this name... and my daughter "Lynn", because I think it's pretty girly and cute.

I just named my farm Moon Farm... twice. Staying with the Konohana theme, you could name it after your favorite type of crop (or tree, or flower). I get the feeling I'm really bad at naming things though so you might not want to listen to me.
