Few questions!

Okay I started playing last year but stopped before fall first year. I made a new save a few weeks ago and i'm up to winter first year. I have a few questions since I'm sort of having a hard time :/
What are diamonds used for? I received one from the harvest sprites and got one in the mines, I know usually everything is used for blue prints or gifts but are they just for tons of cash or something else?
How hard is finding Fluorite? I'm trying to make the Fantastical House and it's taking forever because of the Fluorite.. I have 3

. And how about Platinum? I only have found one so far
Do the villagers lose FP if you don't talk to them everyday? I forget or don't feel like going to the other side of the town sometimes and was wondering if it makes me lose FP with them?
Regarding Crop ranking, I was able to get some flowers to 2 star and use the seed maker to get 2 star seeds, but when I grow them I end up with 2 star flowers still. I have them on a regular field on the level 4 terrace on the east farm. I fertilize every day and water every other day for it to take longer..but it doesn't do anything. I don't really understand what I'm doing wrong :/
Thanks for your help

You need them to upgrade your tools to Ultra and a few other blueprints. I don't know how much they're worth, because I don't sell anything in this game.

It seems fairly rare (though not as rare as platinum). You could make this a bit easier on yourself by saving in the mine and reloading if you don't find what you're looking for

I don't think so. You could go without talking to someone for a month, and they'll like you just as much the next time you talk to them as they did the last time you talked to them. I think if you haven't spoken to them for at least 10 days (or however long you have to ignore them before they'll comment on it) they won't accept a gift for, like, one day

Maybe not watering crops lowers their star ranking? I'm not sure on this one. Just try watering them everyday and see if that helps

With the seed maker watering every other day is not worth it. You need to grow it as fast as possible, fertilize 2 spots per field, and then pick only those 2 crops, turn them into seeds and harvest the rest.

I've heard mixed things about how much to water and I still dont really understand it. Why is watering every other day not worth it? Is it best to only water once a day then? or since you said to grow as fast as possible, is it best to water twice a day?

The seed maker gives a bonus, a big one if you have all 5, but there is something even if you don't.
I use potatoes as an example. This is a bit exaggerated, assuming no rain or anything, but it gets the point, I think.
They grow in 5-7 days.
It you water every 2 days it'd take let's say 15 days to be ready to harvest, so 15 fertilizers.
If you water twice a day they grow in 5 days. So in those 15 days that would have taken you to grow 1 batch, you have 3 of them. You've given them 15 fertilizers, plus 2 times the maker bonus. And you've made more money
Once you have all 5 makers, turning a crop to seed can give you 1 or even 1.5* more.

OH i understand now. thanks a lot!
Another thing I've always wondered is.. just say turnips. They grow so fast that sometimes even though i fertilized everyday they're still the same star rank as when I planted them (they didnt go up star ranking at all)
Do they have a hidden value that actually means the fertilizer is doing SOMETHING? or is it just a waste of fertilizer?

Yup, there is a hidden value. That's why it's important to pick only the crops you're fertilizing, and not harvest the rest until you've turned them into seeds. If you mix them it either rounds it or (I'm afraid) takes the lowest value, and can cause your crops to get stuck at 2-3*.

Wow. I'm glad I asked. I had a feeling.. but I
have been picking them all at the same time. Wont be doing
that anymore!
Thanks!!! Now my turnips might actually get past 2*'s
maybe. hopefully

I don't know a whole lot about trees so correct me if im wrong.. but I believe you can plant them pretty much any time of the year and nothing bad should happen to them. Once they mature though, they'll have to wait until their growing season to produce anything.
So if you already have the seedlings.. might as well plant them now.
They wont die like the other crops once their season's over. I think they'll last forever unless you kill them yourself??

I can confirm that this is correct, as I'm in year 4 now and I've had my trees (most of them, at least) since year 1.
Just remember that sometimes, even if your tree's star rank is 5, it will sometimes drop half a star by its next growing season so you need to keep an eye on them.

This happens when the weather is bad, like a storm or snow storm. You'll need to fertilize a few more times to get the higher points again. The other days of the year you can leave the trees alone and only get their fruits

I don't think so. You could go without talking to someone for a month, and they'll like you just as much the next time you talk to them as they did the last time you talked to them. I think if you haven't spoken to them for at least 10 days (or however long you have to ignore them before they'll comment on it) they won't accept a gift for, like, one day
Actually, according the Cher's guide: "Not talking to a villager for a long time will also lower your friendship a little bit. If you ignore a person for more than 10 days, then you will earn -100 FP each day. If you continue to ignore the person for at least 20 days, then this increases to a -200 FP drop each day. Finally, if you don't talk to a person for over 31 days, you will start to receive -300 FP per day with that person. This is automatically stopped when you have a conversation with the person."
So yes, not talking to a villager will lower your friendship points with them.

You could make this a bit easier on yourself by saving in the mine and reloading if you don't find what you're looking for
You have to save Outside the mine before going in. Hit all the mining spots and if you don't get what you need, reload. If you save once you're inside, the stuff you mine will be the same every time. Also, be happy even if you get only one. Tomorrow's another day.
For gems, save like 10~30 of each to be ready for recipes (somehow you can't save enough moonstones - you'll need lots of them later). You can always sell some if you need money (you won't need to sell much after a while, trust me). Diamonds are for blueprints. Pink diamond is like 1 or 2 recipes. The rest you can safely sell.

You can save before each hit, and what you get will change. It's a pain but it works

Oh, really? I wasn't sure on that point so thanks for clearing that up.
