Bought the horse once and I agree that it is useless. It takes up space in my barn, so I sold it after getting it up to 3 hearts. I've yet to use the panda car as I prefer walking/running.
I would've kept the horse if the game had a horse race

At first I was very happy and excited about the horse because I got the white one and it reminds me of Will from Sunshine Island, which was my greatest love 
, then I realized it was taking lots of time getting off and on when I forage, so I decided to just leave it at the barn on my main farm but now it has 7 hearts but I still prefer running... I think I'll still keep the horse and wait til it has 10 hearts :D

I'm surprised they haven't introduced bikes in HM yet there's segways and horses.

It's hilarious to me how everyone says they sold their horse but then there's me xD i totally tried to sell my horse once i realized how slow it was, but WHEN I WENT TO SELL IT ROD MADE A SAD FACE ;A; i couldn't do it :c which is why i still have my horse OTL but i like it okay now <3 i wish there could've been more interaction with it, like others have said, and i definitely agree that having a horse race or SOME festival that involved the horse would have made it worth having :c i've always loved having a horse in all of the Harvest Moon games, so the horse in ANB makes me kind of sad ;n;

Okay.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who hasn't sold my horse. In spite of it's flaws, I've grown attached to it. I probably won't use it as much when I get the buggy, but I'll still ride it around my farm or something. However, I'm also one of the people who would be made to feel guilty by Rod's sad face if I ever tried to sell it. XD
Seriously though, I'm frustrated that the horse can't, at the very least, jump. I really don't like getting caught on ledges that my character can jump over on a normal day. Also having to speed up again only because I entered another screen is really jarring. Regular running doesn't have that interruption so why does the horse...?

The horse is useless, but I like having it for show. It's like a decoration. Like the mechanical panda. But less annoying looking.
