Even if it isn't much I have a very hard time skipping around within a game series. I like doing everything in order. Plus I have so many other games I need to play. Still it is a tempting offer and might be a good push to get me to try the series out at all. But I don't know just yet. I have until the end of August so I don't choose right now.
they have NOTHING to do with each other at all.
nothing.
the only thing similar is that they are all turn base.

How can you tell if your copy is registered? I got the Fire Emblem 3DS with FE:A preinstalled so I have no idea if it's registered or not Dx

According to the website, you need to link your 3DS to your Club Nintendo account. If it worked you should have a Fire Emblem: Awakening survey waiting for you in the to-do list, you need to finish those for both games to get the credit.

And sorry for not being logged in, not at home and phone wont let me log in
Digitally bought games will only automatically register if you link your Club Nintendo account to your 3DS eShop
before buying the game. That's the only time the 3DS will auto-register any game. Physically bought games will always have to be manually registered, I think. Also, did you complete the survey for your 3DS? You won't get coins for registered products unless you finish surveys.

[edit] What I said before here was wrong

*points down to newer post she made*
If anyone needs to contact Nintendo to get a digital download registered (if you bought before linking your Club Nintendo account), go to
this page to fill out a form to contact them. A page in the FAQ says you should include your name, (Club Nintendo) username, email address, 3DS serial number, and the game titles that you want registered.

They didn't give me a survey for my 3DS.
But when I look it says it's registered. Still don't have the coins or anything.

Actually, I think it's the downloading that registers it, not the actual buying for it. So if you don't mind the wait to redownload, you can uninstall the game, go back and redownload it from the shop and as long as your club nintendo account is linked it should be on there.
As far as Fire Emblem goes, I think that after a certain point surveys expire so if you bought it quite a while back you won't have to do the survey but you'll still get the points. Just going off personal experience here.

But I still should have gotten the points then?
I Don't have them. I bought my 3DS back when ANB came out so even if the survey expired I should get the points?

Did you do the survey for SMT? The Fire Emblem one is the only one that shouldn't be there.

Yes I did the one for SMT. Like 3 times because it kept saying I didn't do it.
But its my 3DS that I'm wondering about. It said if I registered my 3DS I get coins but I never got them.

@KonekoChan - I did try redownloading first. Didn't work for me. *shrug* It's probably worth a shot to try first.
@Ducki - Unfortunately I think you do have to actually complete the 3DS survey before you get coins. If the survey expires, you won't get anything (based on what I've read from other forums while trying to figure out how to get FE:A registered and based on the Club Nintendo FAQ). The FAQ on Club Nintendo says the 3DS surveys expire after 7 days. If there's nothing about an expired survey in your to-do list, maybe contact Nintendo about it?
[edit] Did you enter your PIN number that was on the Club Nintendo insert in your 3DS packaging? I've seen people say that they used their 3DS serial number and never got a survey until they entered their PIN number instead.
Also @Docga, what I said before was wrong >_> Like what Panda Parfait said, the answer is near the bottom of the link in the first post. If your 3DS is registered and your Club Nintendo account is linked to it, you just need to register SMT IV to get the promotion. You can't separately register FE:A since it's pre-installed on your system, so you can't get any coins/surveys for FE:A.

I registered SMTIV the other day. You get the $30 code almost immediately. There is a ton of good content on the eShop, so I was pretty happy with this deal. I see a lot of people comparing both Fire Emblem and SMTIV, and I agree with most of what has been said. But nobody has said that even on their easy modes, both games are still more difficult than the hard mode in a lot of other games. You'll definitely be putting a lot of hours into this.
