Can I do the Fodder trick on 1.5?

I recently heard about a glitch; build a fodder animal barn, and put a pet inside, and the barn will never collapse because pets can't die. I heard in got fixed in some versions, so I was wondering; can I do the fodder trick on version 1.5?

That's not true, barns can collapse and can you lose your animals.

It's a glitch that got fixed... What I'm asking is if the glitch got fixed in 1.5
