alright, after looking at all the characters listed, the ones I plan to 'go after' are Sue and Magi, Midori, Clarissa, Helena, and the sprites(particularly the forest sprite)
Sue, only cause she looks like a witch and reminds me of one of my fav characters, the withc princess,(and cause of her what I have dubbed a "mokona"(XXXholic) Magi. I swear when we get more shots of those two(Magi and ours) I am SO making stufties of the both of them because I need them)
Midori, cause she's cute and looks like a nice mature woman but still cool(like I view Julia from IOH to become when she gets to about her mother's age)
Clarissa, only if the one text box with "yo" in it isn't how she normally talks cause that'll bug me to no end. she is pretty cute though so depending on how she rest of her speech and story is I may or may not look into her.
Helena I HAVE to know more about, just like the sprites. I mean heck, she looks like she should be one of them!
and the sprites because I love fantasy and I know I'll just love them.
but, whoever I go after *first* will depend on the stories themselves. the one of these people shown so-far who has the best story is the one I go after first, and everyone else falls in line next~

So is the Japanese version of this game and the NA version being released at the same time? I don't think I've seen English trailers before for a game that isn't even out in Japan yet?
I am still trying to figure out the game-play part. The whole running a store and upgrading it and such ... well I can do that on Facebook (and have), so that is not super appealing.
I wonder if there is a MP portion where you can have a friend visit your store and vice-versa to buy/trade things.
I also like the developing a relationship/family aspect of these games, so I'll want more info on that when it comes out.

No word on the JP version. Both are ETA fall, but nothing set in stone yet. Not sure if it's a simultaneous release date or not, but I hope so~
@ Fish - Don't feel bad, I love marriages in HM/RF games too! One of my favorite parts, and I'm personally glad they haven't axed them for this game. On the other hand, having a smaller pool of candidates is preferable so they can flesh out the personalities and stories more :D I'm interested in the long-haired guy, Jinn and the red head that Googa posted a picture of. For girls, the purple-haired girl and Sue are my favorites so far. Ember > all though imo

Yeah, this is how I view it as well. I will not be pre-ordering the game but I am very interested to see what others have to say about it once they play. If it's nothing but great things, I might just buy it, but... as of now it's not looking likely.LeBurns wrote:I am still trying to figure out the game-play part. I heard that Natsume and Toybox were working together to simultaneously release it in JP and NA at the same time.Anonymous Fish wrote:They said when the game was first announced it was going to be a worldwide release -- toybox in japan, natsume in north america, and rising star games in eu/pal so they should all be out around the same time.
Mainly, Natsume announced they were localizing the project only shortly after it was announced.
But this is the first time I heard that Rising Star was also pushing for an EU release at the same time.
And it seems a little out of character for them.
Considering that Rising Star usually takes a long time to localize a game(mainly because they have to translate them into multiple languages).

speaking of that dude, I noticed something(that I don't think was mentioned).RopeMaidenKirie wrote:No word on the JP version. Both are ETA fall, but nothing set in stone yet. Not sure if it's a simultaneous release date or not, but I hope so~

Spoiler:
honestly, I'm not sure which I'm more interested in.
as for a worldwide release, that's pretty cool, but at the same time I find it kinda funny that it [may be] doing the same thing as pokemon right now. I have to wonder what other games will jump on this worldwide bandwagon.
^More I hope. I get mighty impatient waiting sometimes.
That being said, its not often that a Japanese game developer produces a game in mind for western sales. Both Pokemon and Harvest Moon games sell like hotcakes over here and companies have taken notice. Hometown Story has the privilege of being from one of the Harvest Moon creators so it kinda gets a free pass here.

yea, it is nice to see Japanese companies and their people taking notice of us and going out of their way to make us feel more included as equal fans worthy of equal attention.Bluie wrote:^More I hope. I get mighty impatient waiting sometimes.

Let's just hope all these games really take off so they continue to work to make this sort of thing possible in the future.
(that is, if we can get guide books like we normally can. that's one thing I like about having to wait for a game. all the info is out so I can have a nice easy ride by the time I get it)
Natsume posted some more screenshots on their facebook. Many of the pictures have already been posted in articles and such but some seem to be brand new ^^.
I would probably never use a multiplayer feature but I'd be nice for others if they had one.
As for the red character I'm gonna guess that is not another player. There aren't very many hair color options and the red your character can have is much brighter than that red.
And since they haven't mentioned being able to unlock more hair colors or even being able to change your hair color at all once you start the game I'm going to assume it's an NPC. Plus I don't know that outfit just seems like a weird option for a player to be able to get.
However, even though I think he is a NPC it is possible he is one of the many non-main characters. That would be a shame but there are 30 main characters and you can get your town up to 100 people so there has got to be a lot of unimportant people in this game. He stands out a bit too much for for him obviously be unimportant but you never know. They could have given interesting designs to some of the unimportant characters.
Oh noes Mai your post count tis evil D:

I would only ever use it if it was more than what ANB/GB did and more like animal crossing. I have a long-distance girlfriend and we love using games with multiplayer functions like AC to get around that. it'd be awesome if we could but having AC I really don't mind if it doesn't.Googaboga wrote:I would probably never use a multiplayer feature but I'd be nice for others if they had one.

besides, what exactly would it do? would we be able to trade items, would we be able to sell to each other, what would be the point of it?
That is a good point on the hair. I hadn't noticed that. I actually like his red better than the one we get now XD good thing I wasn't planning to go with red~
I'm betting like most games, once your character is made the only thing you can change is your clothes and possibly accessories if there are any. I could almost see being able to change the style, but if you could why wouldn't you be able to change the color?
The outfit is pretty cool though. I'd so like to be able to get that. it looks a lot better than the plad the girl is in x3
Yea, we've seen like, what was it? "Old man A"? he looked like one of those faceless people from IOH/SI so if that's the case there's no way he's just a regular extra. They could add some flare to it, but I doubt it. after working so hard on 30 characters why waste a good design on an extra?
oh nu! x3
