The blacksmiths will sell all the tools (they start with all the rank 1 tools, yes even the hammer they sell themselves will upgrade their own store when they buy it.), so it's best to try to sell them any hammer. I was lucky and got a steel hammer from the 2 PM seller quickly.
Hammers - Cling and Clang
Fishing rods - Phil
Knives, Pots, and Pans - Rachael (not sure if it works for her daughter)
Sickle (and maybe hoe, but I'm not sure.) - Haruka (not sure for her mother)
I'm not sure about the axe, but I'm going to guess the brush will be used by the animal store (haven't unlocked her and there are 2 ranks of brushes.). Sorry if this is old information to you.
Well I think everyone is selling their prime stuff except him. I'll keep stocking fishing poles and see what happens, but I know I've seen him buy some poles before.
Can you date more than one guy or girl at the same time?
...
Thanks!
Yes. In fact some are saying that you have to have all three dates with all the eligible men/women before you can get married. However, I've yet to find anyone that has figured out how to get married, so I would assume that's a guess at best.

Thanks a ton! I'm glad we can date all of them at the same time. I wonder how you do get married then. I heard there is a second blue feather to make (on gamefaqs). Maybe it has something to do with that?
@Sir Stardust Thanks! I thought as much, but he hasn't had any cloth at all so I wasn't sure. I hate waiting as his stuff is so random!

Well I've had love confessions from all three girls now, but no indication of how to get married yet. From what others have posted on gamefaq it may be a while. Which really bites cause I'm really getting tired of this completely directionless game and want to get back to RF4.

No, and that does happen sometimes. You may go a week or more with no wood. I think the pace of this whole game is wholly dependent on the 2:00 merchant.
Good grief, that's annoying. I didn't know I needed it and by the time I did he stopped selling it.
Would soft-reseting be a good way to get the merchant to change his items? I think I'm at a point now where the only way to really progress is to expand. Also I'm getting really tired of waiting on this game. It shouldn't be this hard (or random) to get building materials.

Well you would have to replay the whole day again up to 2:00 and if there were cut scenes those would have to replay again, etc. I think that may be why this game does not allow a save anytime/anywhere feature.
I'd just keep playing it. By the end of the second month your shop should be fully updated and you'll have more than enough gold for anything. At that point you are just playing for story cut scenes.
Despite from what i've read and seen so far. I'm just going to wait till they drop the price as it really doesn't sound like a $40 game to me... maybe when it drops to about $20-30 then i just might buy it
Does anyone know specifically how to date the 3 bachelors? Ive finished the clock book& red balloon scenes with Steve and Dexter. Ive had a scene where steve invites me&some other villagers to listen to him talk about he city but that was like a month ingame ago. Ive had scenes with dexter but i think they were for other villagers and not specifically him so idk. And i have no idea what to do with shinji lol.
Also the 2pm guy has stopped selling me special items, apart from buzzng flies(which ive already sold to rachel)and wall paper i already bought. I dont think his onventory has changed in the last 2 days too. Is this a glitch/should i be worried)z
Well this reminds me of when some of the hms released ..no one had any clue what they were doing the game barely told them what was going on ........... infact if it wasnt for the demo tutorial hm would been more confusing than it already was ........
I do find the typical jap attitude about help for the game slightly amusing ie "we made the game the way we made it and youll like it as is "
I do wonder if the normal ver 1.5/2.0 is coming out like most hm games the ones that have slight changes maybe a few fixes and a new character or two (like the diffrence between magical melody and mm for world )
But if you think this game is grindy try some of the pc shop games....espically the ones made by edgebee studios...swords& potions 2
