Three marriage candidates per gender is fine with me.
Since you apparently don't even really need to talk to someone (I'm assuming they mean talking outside events you get with them) to marry then that must mean the marriage is very intertwined with granting their wish. So that makes me wonder the same thing Mai does. What happens when you play as the same gender as one of those characters? Does their storyline play out the same way just without marriage? I really doubt that happening personally. Either the romance would have to be tagged on right at the end or it'd be a real tease that seemed like a same gender relationship but it didn't actually go anywhere. Maybe the storyline plays out differently if you are the same gender. Or maybe you can't do their storyline at all. If there wishes that can only be granted for a certain gender I hope it is not only in relation to the marriage candidates. It wouldn't be a big deal if it was only them but I think it could be kind of neat if for some reason you had to play as a certain gender to grant a wish even if it is not a romantic relationship. Like maybe one of the ladies in town just wants to have a female friend for once or something.
Also I love the fact that it seems like you can only grant one wish per game and that not all wishes take the same amount of time. It's going to be fun playing this game 30 times to get them all X3.
same here. especially cause that means there will be plenty of characters of both genders I like who I can feel free to befriend without fear of being pressured into getting married.
hey, tease or not, that'd make me happy. what pissed me off in ANB was that in the translation, if I was a boy dressed as a girl they all seemed to go out of their way to call me a boy, which gave me a lot of disphoria(as odd as that is) but that would end up going somewhere if I really wanted to continue after that(which I didn't and still don't) if I can play as a girl, be referred to as a girl, and get close to other girls even if it goes nowhere, that makes me happy. (and besides, getting married in these games always ends with kids. if there's no adoption/harvestgod blessing of a random baby there's little point in actually getting married) and as many LGBT people will tell you, we don't need marriage to prove our love. yes, we want it, yes, it helps a LOT, but it isn't needed to prove our love and in a game like this where we don't have to worry about sudden deaths, illnesses, taxes, and so on, it's not important. I'd be MORE than happy to be able to get as close to the girls as I could a boy, just without the actual wedding.
I guess I've been spoiled by pokemon, but I don't like the idea of gender-specific wishes. I like being treated the exact same regardless of my gender. if I never want to play as a boy, I'd never be able to see the storyline of some characters and that really sucks.
now, I could see there being special storylines or subendings to a story that you can only access as a particular gender, but if it was an entire storyline I'd be pretty mad, especially if it was someone I really wanted to get close to.
I'm pretty meh on that bit, since I rarely want to complete relationships with characters I have little to no interest in, but it depends on how I feel when I play the game as to how much I like that.
if I really like the file I have, I'm not going to want to delete it just to start over for someone else. if I get really close to someone I really like, I'm not going to want to start over and loose all that with them. but, if I get to a point that I get bored with the gameplay, I may like restarting for a whole new adventure.
I think it really depends on how many save files we have lol
