I believe it's the tail with a little stick in it. Personally I would find it weird if Fennekin could suddenly remove its tail and use it as a broom/accessory. xD But we'll see the final evolutions soon enough.

I don't think it can remove the tail, I just think it's there to look like a broom.
And it could probably still use it like a broom by swishing it's tail on the ground.
The reason I pointed it out is because I heard the rumor, I thought it odd that a fire type pokemon would have a stick sprouting from it.

EDIT: Though apparently the stick itself can be removed.

And in one of the screenshots it looks like Teerunaa is holding the stick in it's hand and the stick is on fire.

Does anyone think this game is going to be much harder if they're giving us TWO starters? (A Kanto, and Kalos starter).

Oh I hope so!!! I remember Yellow (which was my first Pokémon game) and how hard it was to beat the gym leaders and at the end that little snot your rival, because I didn't really know anything about Pokémon back then. Now I've played every game since and as much as I love them it's more of a ho-hum I beat the gym leaders and the bad guys yet AGAIN . I want this game to really test me and my Poke-skills!!

Pokemon: The Origin has been moved up, it will now air on October 2nd.
They probably wanted to release it early so it wouldn't interfere with fans' time with X&Y.

I think it will definitely be harder, that's been the trend in new games, but they're not giving us the starters at the same time. We get the Kanto starter in Lumiose city.

I really like the blue and the pink one. Mostly the blue, though. <3

I hope we get extended hair color options early on, and not have to just obtain access to unnatural ones later. I can see why they would do that but I would like to probably keep my hair color permanent for the whole game.

Oh yeah, on one of the pictures of the english site, there is an unditified Team Flare woman who is proooobably the boss of the group? It's possible she is just an admin, but I'd really like it if we had a female for an antagonist boss.
