I just started this game yesterday and I have Mythic Islands unlocked (I shipped 100 turnips, gave 5 300+ gifts to several people, and found some stones on the islands) Anyways, I was on the page to get the hints on how to find all of the sunstones. I saw that 5 of the sunstones you get from traveling to certain islands by boat. I read it is only a 5% chance.
My question is, how did you guys get all of the traveling sunstones? Did you just wait for it to randomly happen or did you keep traveling to the islands over and over til you got it? Can I just travel over and over in one day to get them or is it only a once per day chance thing? Also do I need to travel from Verdure Island to the other islands or can I say travel from Meadow Island to Mythic Islands or vice versa? I kind of want to get these stones out of the way as quickly as possible. Thanks for any help!

I randomly got 2 or 3 of them since I travelled a lot by boat when most of my islands were unlocked and was pleasantly surprised when Kirk gave me the Sunstones!
I'm not sure about this. What I know is that I got 1 Sunstone per day but with only a 5% (?) chance that isn't surprising. Maybe you can receive 2, 3 etc. per day, maybe you can't. Sorry for not really answering your question. Can I just travel over and over in one day to get them or is it only a once per day chance thing?

I don't think you need to. I remember travelling from another island to Volcano Island to receive a Sunstone.
Also, I don't recommend getting these stones at the beginning. Since you started the game only yesterday, I assume you're in Year 1 Spring/Summer/Autumn? You will have plenty of time AND opportunities to receive these Sunstones when you have raised all of the islands (except of Sunny Island) and need to travel day by day to greet other villagers on the other islands, collect mushrooms, go into the mine etc. I just imagine travelling over and over again must be very tedious, plus the other stones are much easier and more certain to get and once you're done with them and have more islands up, you can always travel again and again by boat.

Thanks for all your answers guys! I ended up getting the sunstone for Mythic Islands shortly after posting this topic and I now also have the stones for Meadow and Mushroom. I tried over and over again for the Meadow and Mythic ones but Mushroom I got randomly when I went to visit Shea when he moved in.
