but that's what it says on the websites and stuff o_O
maybe u got a defected rod...? :P

hmmm..

ps: taken directly from gamefaqs:

Benefits: The Golden Rod catches Fish easier. Just throw in the bobber, and
Fish will automatically home-in on it wether they see the bait or not.

PAH! Load of Chuck. And Chuck is a bull. Get it?

I've tried:

A legit Golden Rod obtained in my first AC file. Nothing.
A Universal Code-obtained Golden Rod in my new file. Nothing.

The only fish that do that are the ones that show up in those tiny ponds around town.

I don't remember. But check GameFAQs' Code section for AC. It has it. And the codes for the G Shovel, G Net, and G Axe.

Y'know, I've got tons of useless Golden Shovels from my Golden Trees... but I can't bring myself to throw them in the dump.

hah!
i never shake my full grown golden trees!

they all have a shovel inside them, and then my new characters can easily get golden shovels w/o transferring from my previous characters

Agh, I just gather up the G Shovels (those that I remember to collect, anyway) and throw them in front of the train station. Just like how I have 10-15 Pitfalls on the ground in front of Lloyd's house.

I wonder if G Trees become like normal trees after the shovel's gone? I think I had 100 Bells fall out of one before...

yes they do, but they don't grow pink during spring.
(i've got 100 bells too, before i made my new town :P )
