In Animal Crossing, the snob-type people give rumors that you must discover the rest of by yourself, such as the shovel-rock trick. There's one piece of dialogue about planting a piece of fruit on the day after it rains for a while. But I never saw anything. Anyone know about it?

Well, fruit trees grow no matter what, if you planted it in a good place. But something must be different, in this situation...

but it might not, sometimes the animals only gives half-correct information. ie: last time random animal told me that i shouldn't look at the tree buds or else they won't grow good, but it has been proven false.

No, actually, the tree dies if you look at it too much.

Well, that's from the sleepy type animal. The snob-type animal's rumors are all true, except for this one, as I have yet to discover anything.

!
That's it! It must be a Gyroid!
I can't remember the whole dialogue, it's something along the lines of "YOu remember that time, you know, when it has been raining for a while? I had just eaten supper, and I was going to put the rest of the uneaten fruit into a hole in the ground like I usually do, but then... Wait! That's it! I can't say anymore! It was too funny, though."

trees will only grow if you plant them on the designated spaces. These designated spaces are the brown circles .

Wrong. Those are just scenery. Trees grow ALMOST anywhere where there isn't anything touching it and nothing is shadowing it. As far as I know, the only spot that it won't grow that satisfies the above conditions are next to the west and east edges of the village.

Don't worry.
Secret Tip: Find a glowing spot of ground, dig up the Bells you find, and bury a Shovel. (This means you'll need 2 Shovels in your inventory) A GOLDEN sprout will appear! When it matures, shake it to get a Golden Shovel!
Just in case you didn't know. Oh, and Golden Trees seem to be harder to grow than normal trees. They seem to die more often. BUT THEY'RE PURTY! I'm filling my village with Golden Trees!

heh i tried filling my village with golden trees, but it looks ugly after you cut down the normal trees, and another drawback is that no pink cherry blossom-trees in the spring

Who said I was killing my normal trees? I only chop 'em down when a golden spot is next to one. And if it's two (or in some bad cases, four) I just dig up the money and leave it alone. Whenever I hack down a tree, I try to plant another in the same acre.
