I agree with you, Rope. The voices will probably sound a lot different in-game. I just hope I don't stop liking any of them. XD

I also forgot to mention I don't like Lest's voice from what we've heard. I think that's my biggest disappointment actually. I wish we had a romantic line to listen to.

I like all the voices especially Pico's and Porcoline. Kiel reminded me of Brainy(Brainiac 5) from Legion of Super Heroes for some strange reason, though it did seem to fit him.

I, honestly, like Kiel's voice. I think the problem with his voice clips is that they chose ones that emphasized the cracking in his voice, which is probably why it comes off as nasally. I mean, who sounds good during a voice crack? So his voice probably isn't going to sound the way it does in the first and third clips all the time. I believe the second clip is most likely what his voice will sound like normally, and, since I love that clip, I have no problem with that.
(please note that this is just what I think the problem is with his voice clips and I'm very likely completely off the mark.)

I actually thought Kiel's voice was really fitting? I don't know what the Japanese voices sound like, but I thought Kiel's voice made him sound really boyish like someone just coming out of puberty, with the voice cracking and non... deepness...
I mean his voice isn't sexy like Dylas or Leon which would be weird for Kiel, and I honestly don't know what anyone else was expecting?

I also liked Frey's voice, haha. I keep seeing people describe it as girly, and I have no idea why that would be considered a bad thing.
It is girly, but that doesn't mean Frey isn't a warrior princess. I said it before, but her voice really reminds me of what I would think a standard shoujo heroine would sound like.

Anyway, I pretty much liked most of the voices. Most of them are really great and then there's a few that were just OK to me.
Like Bado's voice was just kinda meh to me.
And, now that I think about it, Vishnal's voice is sorta strange to me. It's not bad and I could get used to it, but it's not quite what I was expecting.
Hmm, I dunno, I don't dislike it. I'll just have to see when I play the game I guess.

Still her VA did a great job at showing off her ditzy personality which is good haha

But other than that the voice acting is really well done in this game and most of the voices fit pretty well!!
I can't wait to listen to how it sounds in-game too gosh, I'm really hyped for the high quality sound clips yeahh

my biggest disappointments are probably Vishnal and Xiao. Vishnal's didn't surprise me at all since people were completely expecting Vic Mignogna to show up, but... I'm just not big on Vic Mignogna because his voice sounds the same for everything, and the clips they chose for Vishnal on the site didn't impress me at all. So while he's not a BAD choice, I just think there could've been better choices for Vishnal? And well, Xiao's voice just reminds me of a mash between Uzuki and the robot from My Life as a Teenage robot, and while I understand having her accent didn't work out... her voice and samples ended up just kind of bland compared to the other girls?

the voice acting is definitely top notch for this, though, and i'm hoping hearing the voices in-game with text and context to go along with them will get me used to them. ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ

Got to give it to XSEED for choosing probably one of the best dub crew for a Rune Factory game *clap*

Actually pretty surprised at the wide disapproval for Vishnal's voice in this topic. I love his voice, and I personally think it does sound soothing. I actually like Vic as Vishnal better than Tamaki, I think. He is definitely still my favorite bachelor.

As for Frey and Kiel, I can't say I'm a huge fan either. I also don't love Lest's voice.

I think all the voices are pretty good. I try to reserve judgement, because judging beforehand tends to bum me out. Bado's voice, to me, was...okay, I guess. But, I don't dislike it, or anything. And I could change my mind after a while. I just don't like focusing entirely on negativity. I'll decide which voices I like, and if I don't like any, while I'm playing the game.

I don't want to come off as negative, but Kiel's voice didn't really appeal to me. However, I can't really make my judgements based on 3 voice clips. There's a lot of dialogue in the game so I'll hold on any further judgements for now lol.

I actually really liked Frey's voice, and I am a fan of lower-keyed females, being one myself. It didn't sound forced to me, personally, but idk. Her voice is lower than Amber's, so I don't get why people are saying it's too high...?

Lin Fa, honestly, sounds a bit too young for my taste. I mean, her daughter sounds older than her. Just kind of weirds me out.

But I don't dislike any of them. My least favourite, judging on just the clips, is Lin Fa, but 3 audio snippets aren't enough for me to discredit a voice completely, if at all.

I know. I feel the same way. Personally, I was surprised at Vishnal's voice, but not disappointed. I could definitely get used to him.

Frey made me cringe a little. She sounds more girly than I was expecting. As long as Frey is still a troll then I probably won't care in the long run.

Overall the voice acting is well done and I'm really excited for this. I didn't listen to all the voice clips because I still want some of them to be a surprise.

Okay, so I want to just clarify a couple of things. Don't take this as "you can't have your own opinion!" because by all means do.. I've just seen it a lot and I want to kind of explain a few things.

With Lin Fa, her voice is supposed to be higher than Xiao's. Xiao is really hard on herself.. her mom is really popular with all of the guests at the inn and bathouse, and it really affects her self-esteem. It's part of the story between the two of them.

Xseed is kind of damned if they do and damned if they don't, because they kept all of the voices almost the same pitch at the Japanese ones. Actually, some of them, like Clorica are even lower pitched in English.. and it's personally why I prefer them in English. They get the "don't change stuff from the Japanese version!!! It has to be the same!" and then they get the "why didn't you change _____? I don't like it!" They are kind of stuck in a hard place :/ I feel bad for them on that regard.

^^ The voices really do grow on you, though. I listened to them for the third time this morning, and already I was liking some of the ones I didn't originally like. I applaud XSEED, because they're all very good and pretty damn accurate, from what I can tell.
Very glad they opted for high quality voices; I wanna hear it all crystal clear.
