Yeah, by all means I'm not saying people shouldn't have a right to their opinion. Just explaining why they chose some of the voices they did :D (Not a fan of either of Lin Fa's voices personally lol)

All of them. JK I haven't even listened to them. I'm sure they'll be a million times better than the Japanese voice acting. I've never been a fan of Japanese voice acting, it's so overdone and everyone sounds the same. A tsundere girl will sound like every other tsundere character and a wimpy boy will sound like every other wimpy boy character. And so on

I'm still not a fan of Kiel's voice...
But he was already a character I was planning to have limited interaction with, and his voice beats the RF2 cast anyway.

The only other voice I didn't like from the start and haven't grown to love is Raven's, since I was so fond of how she sounded in the old game. There's nothing wrong with the new voice. I just miss the old one.

Honestly, I don't hate any of the voices. I wasn't planning on talking to Kiel much, anyway, but his voice is fine--just my least favorite, along with Frey's (whose voice I don't hate, either). It's just a matter of which I like less, I guess. I generally like all of them, and love quite a few of them.

Yes, they changed Raven's voice - XSEED is a completely different company from Natsume and so the voices are going to be different. It's happened before with the two of them - Natsume's voice for Anette in ToD was different from her voice in Frontier.

I didn't like most of the female cast's voices, some of them sounded the same(Frey and Xiao Pai...Clorica is like a less peppy version of their voices). Then again I might be biased.

I'm actually surprised about the bachelor voices, and most of the bachelorettes' voices annoyed me.
Anyways...I LOVE PORCOLINE'S VOICE OMFG.

I do really like Vic as Vishnal but agree he sounds the same in just about everything. The second I heard Vishnal's voice I was like "Edward Elric? « What The Eggplant »?" But in a good way because I like how Vic's voice sounds.

Anyway. I hate clip 1 and 3 of Kiel but if the second clip is more how he normally talks I think I'll like it just fine.

Frey's voice IS very feminine but I've known plenty of girls that sounded girly but were still able to fight.

Even the voices I didn't immediately like have grown on me.

Woah since when did your voice have anything to do with your battle capabilities? People are actually bothered by that?

If it's so unbearable then go ahead and hack the game and replace all of Frey's voice clips with this.
I can bet you that's already her battle cry, though.


(I noticed there's a lot of "yeah let's hate on people born with higher voice registers woop woop" going on here and in other threads ...dude... it's just as common, if not more common for women to artificially deepen their voices (consciously or not). Even though many of them are among the most popular voices today, actual contraltos are RARE, guys)

^I don't really dislike Frey's voice just because it's high. I think a high voice suits her, to be honest. When I went back and listened to it again, it wasn't that bad. The first clip is kinda jarring though. Not Amanda-Seyfried-hitting-the-high-notes-oh-« Harvest Goddess »-my-ears-are-bleeding-make-it-stop jarring, but jarring nonetheless. Then again, I have sensitive ears and don't much like high pitched noises of any kind.

Going back and listening to all the voices for like the fourth time, I can safely say I'm disappointed with none of them.

I don't dislike Frey's voice because it's girly, I dislike it because it sounds fake. Even if this was a person in real life whose voice really sounds like that it would still really annoy me. It's not like I dislike the character (or person) any less, it's just their voice. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Even then, dislike is a strong word. I don't like it but I don't dislike it, however, I'm less than neutral about it. So on a scale of zero to ten it's a four, I guess. It's just that one line "I want to hold is haaaaaaaaand" that makes me go like "meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh" But even then it's not like I'm going to hear that often enough for it to be a problem.

Frey's voice... I'm not getting used to. I'd probably have to hear some different lines before I could change my mind. Maybe the clips they have up now just aren't doing her justice. Kiel's voice is a different story. "I can feel my face turing red..." it's adorkable now which sort of seems like it fits his personality... though I'm not sure if Kiel is the adorkable type.

I still didn't like Frey's voice, but then I pictured it in-game, and I actually thought it was quite fitting.

THANK YOU, her voice also sounds really loud and irritating too! Plus, her voice is what you'd expect to hear in a kiddie-show(ex. Sesame Street,Lazy Town, ect)

I like Kiel's voice, it's much different than everyone's and sounds nice.

OMG. I THINK DOUG'S VOICE IS THE SAME AS YOSUKE FROM PERSONA 4.
