"Good" and "bad" seasons affect growth rate (not sure about exact bonus/penalty though), so I imagine it'll just slow down the growth and make it take longer to reach the harvestable stage once the season turns to a "bad" one if the crop is still on the field.Anonymous Fish wrote:About seeds, is the "bad" time regarded when the seed is planted, or when the seed is harvested?

Looks like I'll be getting my US 3DS and RF4 sooner than I thought! My aunt is insisting on sending it to me, because she doesn't want me to wait until July to play it. :D
In any case, here are my questions.
What sort of pacing does the game have? I'm planning to try and marry Leon before the end of the second arc, but I'm worried that I'll zip through without realising it and miss
How often do Runey Days come about?
How hard is it to make money? I want to be able to buy Leon's most expensive dating gift.
Can you go on dates after you've married them? If so, do grocery store gifts still appear in their old room?

I sped through the first two parts of the story because I wanted to marry Doug, and I believe I was somewhere in summer at the time. Maybe early fall. If you're not in a great hurry, it's not supposed to be hard to take longer. The second part is manually triggered and given certain plot stuff, I'm not 100% sure she has max involvement in your wedding if you get married in mid part two. (That would be something to ask someone who did get married during that part of the game.) So if need be, you can hold off on plot progression until Leon agrees to marry you. Just keep in mind that his acceptance to date you and all of the random events you need to watch in order to get married are totally random.
Money making later in the game isn't that hard at all, particularly if you work out how to maximize golden crop production. Although I find that just growing a lot of strawberries turns a pretty good profit with little effort.
Dates are still an option after marriage. I believe items should still show up in the old room, but don't quote me on that one.

Assuming it's like the other games (I haven't used it in RF4, just the first 3 games), a staff is an weapon item to enhance the spells you use. You don't really want to attack with it, instead you want to equip it and attack with your spells, as it makes them more powerful/drains less MP (or gives you more max MP, I forget).Anonymous Fish wrote:How do you properly use a staff for combat?
You CAN hit enemies with the staff, and I seem to remember having a staff once that stole MP from targets when I did this as its weapon ability, but generally you don't want to as the damage of the staff itself is quite low. Instead, just put a lot of spells on your hotbuttons and use those.

SilentPsycho wrote:Well, somehow I've just managed to survive reading all 262 pages of this thread. Brain may explode soon, but before it does how often does Nancy wake you up after you faint verses Jones?
I'm not positive, but I THOUGHT it depended on their schedules. If you faint while Nancy is inside the clinic, then she wakes you up. If you faint while Jones is, then he wakes you up. If they both are, it's Jones.SerpentTailedAngel wrote:It seemed pretty random to me. I'd say around half the time, but I think I got Jones just a little more often.
I just noticed that when I woke up in the clinic and it was Nancy who woke me up, I don't think her husband has ever been in the building. But when I've woken up and Jones is there, sometimes Nancy has been and sometimes not.
But I've not fainted a lot, so I can't say for sure.

Does anyone know Leon's full name, like has he ever mentioned it? I forgot how his introduction goes, but his full name is written in the perfect guide (scans here, contain sprite spoilers) and I couldn't figure out how to read his name (Leon=Basyutato=The VII?) if anyone knows the proper romanization, that would be very helpful.
I haven't come across his full name in English (or in Japanese before seeing those scans) but your attempt comes pretty close to the one shown! The romanisation looks like it's Reon=Bashutatto=VIII sei, with 世 being the counter for generations - so Leon Bashutatto VIII (or the 8th, I guess). Not sure what's up with the = signs.Phantom Turnip wrote:Does anyone know Leon's full name, like has he ever mentioned it? Though hmm, Bashutatto could be some derivation of Bastet, maybe.

Finally got my game! Currently leveling up Forte while waiting for Vishnal to get to 3 hearts so I can take him when we go fight Ambrosia. I've read that Pot Stickers are one of his liked gifts, but does anyone know the recipe? Unfortunately, I sold the Flan I got from 'Barrels of Fun' before finding out he liked it.

I think they might grow very, very slowly. I never tested it out myself though. You always could test it with some fast growing crops like turnips.Anonymous Fish wrote:I am wondering... If yoy don't water your crops every day will they still grow? Can I get away with just watering the sick looking ones only?

Gyoza are actually a very high level recipe, so you might be better off sticking to veggies until you can make ice cream or flan. (Both mid 20s level recipes, if I remember correctly.)
