I did a GameFAQ search and found this:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/iphone/682219-wild-season

Seems there was a iphone/ipad game with that name already.

I just stumbled across the kickstarter whilst in the RF4 gamefaqs board. I am now more excited than I have ever been for a new farming game. So far this seems to have everything I have ever wanted in a HM or RF game. As soon as I get paid tomorrow I will be contributing to this.

My one suggestion though as mentioned by someone else on the previous page: PLEASE make everything stackable. Nothing frustrated me more (okay, maybe Walking slowly in Animal Parade with the crazy camera angles) than running out of room in your rucksack and storage areas. I admit, I am an item hoarder, but I just never know if I'll need such and such random item later in crafting D:

I'm the fishy from earlier <3

Been reading more and more about this and I just got paid, I'm so excited :O I'm assuming my questions will be answered when I get on the official forum but just looking around I couldn't find a predicted launch date?

I'm gonna do my best in spreading this around to my friends, hopefully some of them will be able to contribute as well :)

They must have just added the forum. Not crazy about adding another forum to my daily haunts, but I may have to check this one out.

Anyone else think its ironic that a upcoming game inspired by harvest moon is looking better then the next harvest moon game?

^ I think it's unfair to compare HM with WS. They are different game altogether with different goals and purposes. HM is supposed to balance both farming and socialization, whereas WS focuses on the social aspect of the game and less on farming, at least from the current information. It's like comparing HM and RF; they are fantastic in their own way with different mechanics but looks the same on superficial level (RF was even dubbed as Fantasy Harvest Moon, even though it is a different franchise). WS includes what fans want in HM, but are unlikely to happen due to various reasons.

And don't forget that what's "better" is not the same for everyone. If you like the social aspect of HM better, then you may enjoy his game as much or even more than HM. While this game looks promising for me, I am hoping they also will include more varieties of crops and animals because I'm a big fan of video games agriculture. Of course if that's not what the creators want in the game, so be it. I have no control over their project and I'm sure they know what they are doing.

I'm sorry if it sounds like a rant, but I just want to state my opinion on this matter.

Mum and Dad won't let me contribute.... I really want to contribute £25/44 Aus dollars but mum doesn't trust the site. It's Kickstarter, of course it'll be alright! (Okay not necessarily true but) I really want to but... Maybe I will give my money to a friend to do it... Lol, my friend was like, "another HM rip off, I'm not interested." And then I mentioned same « Chicken Hugging » marriage. Yep it certainly is effective. I hope it reaches its goal! :lala: :lala:

That's because this project is listening to the fans. I have always loved harvest moon but they are not listening to what we want, each game is not better than the last. They go back and forth on what features to have and not have but they seem to be picking these at random.

This new project seems to be trying to combine the best elements and what the general population of players want rather than what they think will do best, that's why it looks better and why I am personally more excited for Wild Season.

^I'm sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread but I really must disagree >.>. HM has been doing a very good job at listening to their fans, especially as of late. Harvest Moon has a core demographic and it is younger people. The type of people who want things like customization features, being able to get new clothes and accessories, mutliplayer stuff, a better wooing/family life system, good looking character designs, etc and those are all things HM has been working on. And to keep things interesting for people who are into the farming they add new crops, animals, and ways to do things on your farm all the time. Yes there are people who want things like more mature character backstories and same « Chicken Hugging » marriage but even though this is harsh those people simply aren't the majority nor are they the group HM is really targeted towards v.v. HM is a business and if they want to have their games appeal to a certain group of people that is just how things go. However, despite that HM has still been including things here and there to make other types of fans happy. Such as being able to cross dress and adding in some more mature looking marriage options. So saying HM is simply ignoring their fans and just doing whatever is not called for. They may not be able to do everything that every fan wants but HM is still listening and at least trying.

Looks like they just closed down their forums. It's just gone. Has anyone heard anything from them lately?

You need to back the kickstarter, register, and then mail them on kickstarter what your username is so they can activate you. They're making the forums a backers only incentive. It said it was on the second tier contribution level from the beginning. I'm in there right now and can post, you just need to be activated.

@Goo

I have only really seen those things in Rune Factory to be honest. Tale of two towns for instance felt like a big step back in terms of game play. They added a better online feature to ANB but it broke the game so now instead of fixing it they're removing the feature. They seem to be trying but they can't decide which features to use. The most irritating of these is the most simple: camera position, for the non hand held games they've had a different camera layout almost every game and didn't listen when people complained.

It just seems like they're focusing too much on making each game different rather than making each game BETTER. People have been screaming for FoMT and MFoMT to have an updated version but they aren't even really including those key features that made the game more fun. IDK, I will always love HM and will always buy their games but it's just frustrating when I don't see a clear improvement between games.

Wow, that really makes little sense to me. They came here to get some 'outside' feedback, now they close the doors and leave all the game discussion in a private session. I don't know if that's a common practice or not, but it's enough for me to never bother with Kickstarter again. I guess I'll check on this game a month from now and just see where they're at.

Well they need incentive for people to back it, I guess they're hoping that people will want to contribute just to see the info. For the most part though the forum is about development suggestions, something that they promised backers would have input for, it wouldn't be fair to the people who backed if just anyone can say how they want the game made.

It's only like 5 bucks to have access to helping design the game *shrug* and it won't be charged until they hit their goal on December 27th. The info about what's already been included is on the kickstarter page itself, you can read the comments section there for additional.

??? They don't take the money until the 27th, and if they don't make the target the money is given back? Wouldn't it be better for them to just keep the money to they can go ahead and finish up the game? If they don't make the target does the game just die?

Not familiar with how kickstarter works but if I gave them $50 I would want them to use it to make the game, not give it back. Odd.
