Nice, the kickstarter just got a good jump after their latest update.

There's now a special edition of the game as well as a kickstarter exclusive version (add ons at 2 and 4 pounds respectively.) Special edition unlocks a new animal, a new area, and new crops. Kickstarter includes special edition, along with a "Kickstarter Creek", a special section of the dreamworld, and the option to raise a fox instead of a dog.

New T-shirt tiers as well, including the option for folks who are getting a special character in game to have their character (and love interest of their choosing) on the shirt instead of the stock MCs. They also added some more tiers allowing kickstarters to work with the company and design a custom house.

Lots of extra goodies!

daikiraikimi wrote:That's true-- but they don't have to do it all at once. One of the awesome parts of Wild Season being on the computer is that they can add patches with more content later on.

For instance, maybe when the game is released your kid is permanently a little kid. But maybe later on the decide to do an expansion, which could update to your already existing game (keeping your save file in tact) that allows the kid to grow older.

Oh man, this is a pipe dream and I realize that-- but what if instead of releasing "Wild Season 2" they just added an expansion patch that allowed your kid to grow up, and aged all the folks in town. (And if there weren't enough babies to make the new set of datable characters, some folks would move in from the city.) That would be extremely cool. O.O Might not be practical at all, but I can dream! One town, developing as time went on, the company making new characters, buildings, and plot points in each update... *drool*
The game is also on IOS and Android, so patching may be a problem. I would prefer they get the game out sooner rather than later, and adding kids and doing it right would definitely put it in the later category.

That's fair. Personally, I would rather wait if the wait promised a better game.

I do like the idea of playing generations and RF2 did this, though the only people that seemed to age in that game were the new children, so they kind of half-way did it.

Yeah, I feel that if they do a generational thing (they don't have one planned, but it would be cool) then they should age all the characters. One, it would be interesting to see mature adult or middle aged versions of love interests. Two, I think it's kind of creepy to have kids look the same age as their parents...

Plus, if there were elderly characters in the beginning of the game, some of them might die by the time the kids are older. And dealing with death of characters in cycles would add a lot more... maturity, I guess?

So far, I'm loving the art style of this game. To me, It feels like its own style, and I believe that's an important thing to have when trying to set yourself apart from other games. I like how some of the characters have multicolored hair, too(the male/female main character, the guy with dark side hair and pink looking top hair, the two girls with blue hair that has yellow tips.) I didn't see that too often in Harvest Moon or Rune Factory(right now Julius is the only character coming to my mind that had it)and I think it's nice.
(Warning, this is the beginning of a weird rambling from a person who is obviously over thinking things.)
Though, anytime I see a character with multicolored hair I can't help but wonder it's a natural, hereditary thing in that world or if it's just hair dye. I mean, in the Harvest Moon games where your child takes after your spouse the kid is born with even the strange hair colors, confirming that those are natural hair colors in that world. So, does the same thing apply to multicolored hair? Personally, I like to think it does. Saying it's hair dye is kind of a boring answer to me, and, for me, having it be a natural thing adds a bit of depth to the world, helps it seem more fantasy like.
...
...
...
...But I'm weird like that .
(Ending of weird rambling.)
Anyway, good luck to you, Quickfire Games, I'm cheering for you :).

I just was able to back the project! I really hope it makes it's goal.

I was sad that all the alpha testing slots got sold out before I got money to back it, but that happens. I'm super excited to see where this goes.

Best of luck on the kickstarter and development!!

Yes, we're almost there! I keep compulsively checking the kicstarter and kicktraq pages, haha.

By the way, folks can still get access to the alpha if they go for a higher tier-- I think the cheapest tier that gets alpha access is the Wild Artiste. (All tiers above Bug Farmer get alpha access.) But it's definitely more expensive than the cheapest alpha access tier.

Yeah, thank you, I saw that. I believe the tier I got allows me beta access, as I did Land Owner, but sadly I can't afford the Wild Ariste tier right now, I think. But if it turns out I can I'll be changing my pledge at the last minute. A lot depends on how Christmas gifting goes for me as I'll be giving out a lot of digital gifts the day of the holiday.

Yeah, the holidays are pretty tough financially. :/ It's really unfortunate that the last few days coincide with the holidays. They have only 2000 pounds left to the goal, so I have confidence that they'll make it-- but it is cutting it pretty close to the wire.

Yeah. I never fully understood why kickstarters get so popular around the holidays, honestly. But either way I hope they make it!

Edit: The kickstarter just hit the goal! Hurray!!!

Glad. Now they can wear pants! Never could figure out how to do that kickstarter thing, nor did I really understand it. I but guess I can buy the game and support them that way.

EDIT: Estimated delivery Sept. 2014. Ouch. Hoping it would be sooner than that, but I'd rather have a complete and unbroken game than something that was rushed.

Well, they are just in the beginning of development. I think anyone would be hard pressed to make a good game of this scope in less than a year.

I'm just hoping there will be enough updates to keep me engaged while I wait! >:D
