Marrying Witchy

Hey guys, so I'm trying to get the Witch Princess to marry me, which is something of a challenge, and there's a couple of things I have questions about. One of the requirements is that I have to pass out 100 times. To do this I've been using my tools on just air and levelling them up, but now they are all upgraded and such, so I want to start with something else.
My point is does it count towards levelling up the milker and clippers by just using them on air like with the tools?
Second question. Another requirement is that I need to give her 10,000 gifts. The info about Witchy says that you can just show her your cat or dog and this counts, as well as doing this multiple times a day. Does anyone know if this actually does work or what?
If anyone can answer my questions let me know

thanks guys!

I'm not actually sure about your first question, though i would think it doesn't because you have access to an interactive game and things, whereas you don't with regular tools. Don't quote me on that though, really not sure ^^;
In the NA version, I think I remember people confirming on here that showing the cat/dog does count as a gift and that's how they've done it. If you've got the EU version, then you're gonna have to do it the hard way and give her 10,000 seperate presents since, although showing the pets will raise friendship points every time, they don't count as gifts :c

You have the correct version, right? (Taken from PrincessZeldas WP Strategy)
The North American Version 1.0 you cannot marry the Witch Princess. Don't follow this guide! It will be a waste of your time.
The North American Version 1.1 you CAN marry the Witch Princess.
!!!!! TO FIND OUT WHICH VERSION YOU HAVE LOOK ON THE BACK OF YOUR GAME
Version 1.0 - ABCEN0J13
Version 1.05 - ABCEN0J22
Version 1.1 - ABCEN1J09 ABCEN1J11
if the number to the left of the J is 0, then you have version 1.0
if the number to the left of the J is 1, then you have version 1.1
** If you can do the milker glitch, you have version 1.0 If you cannot do the milker glitch you have version 1.1
The milker glitch = Brush your horse without the touch glove on, and while your character is brushing, switch the Brush with the Milker.
I can't GUARANTEE that the milker glitch will tell you which version you have, because some people just suck at the milker glitch, but it's indication to which version you have, nonetheless.
** Another way to check is to go mining. Dig up the Pink Necklace/Choker. Check your mining list. If the Pink Necklace/Choker does NOT show up in your list, you do NOT have version 1.1, and you can NOT marry the Witch Princess.
ALL EUROPEAN AND JAPANESE GAMES CAN MARRY THE WITCH PRINCESS.

Okay so update, from looking at the back of the game itself, I have no idea what version this is, the number after the J is 3 (instead of the 0/1 that the witch strategy thread suggests). I'm assuming this is because it is a newer version and any glitches (ie the milked glitch) have been fixed?
Also I think I've got the European version if that helps, so I'm not worried about any North American bugs that won't let me marry Witchy.

If that's the case, I don't think the cat/dog gift trick will work. You'll have to do it the hard way. Good thing is, you can give her weeds; they don't affect her LP/FP, so you can give her a gift she likes for the day, then spam her with weeds. And they're plentiful too
Not sure about the milker/clippers though. Guess the only way to find out is to try?

Don't know if you still need this, but using the milker/clippers on thin air does level them up. That's how I got the final Channel Sprite, by equipping the milker and the Kappa hat and milking a wall for a few hours real time until the milker was at level 99.

I believe you can't marry her if your milker/clips level up that fast. I have a fixed copy, and my milker/clips are only on level 1, and it's going to take a while yet before I can get them up to level 2. I believe the necklace/choker has to show up in the mining list, too. It's really confusing, but you'll get the hang of it. If you have any questions, message me, I'm pretty much about to propose to her (the requirements take a WHILE).
