I actually don't mind the portrait shadows either. I do think it would look better without them, but having them there is just whatver to me.

Anyone else hoping for the rival system to return? I've been waiting since ToTT for it to truly come back.

Me too I love the idea of rival marriages I wonder why they didn't add rivals in TOTT?

I would love a return of the rival system. It gives me something else to do in the game, and I love seeing other people get married.

Oh I definitely want rivals to return. It made courting so much more interesting.

I'm not "hoping" for it, but I wouldn't mind if it came back.

If they even exist xD Though even if they don't there's usually a random event or two to fuel fan shippage.

I don't mind rivals, I think it's a little weird that you should be the only one ending up in a marriage ^^ on the other hand marrying is something I usually do last in my hm games so with rivals I have to pay attention not to trigger this or that or to be married before year whatever. It's not a big deal though.

Like Beedlebud, I'm not necessarily hoping for it to come back but I'd love it if it did since it adds something extra and I love seeing all the events. Marriage is something that I do pretty early in my game as well so stressing about triggering a certain event is definitely not much of a problem for me.

Depends, if the rival system works well but sometimes it's too easy to lose the characters you like or wish to go after, and if it goes beyond just marriage like in AP and TOT (where they have rival kids) then I would like it more, but not the aspect of SI and IOHXD

I always found it weird when the rivals would marry, but then either not live together at all, or move in with the husband's parents with them xD

I'm really hoping that we get the option to run an industry style farm, or a farm in an exotic location. Maybe we'll have to make some ethical decisions that'll affect the town? Or we can build a city? Can't wait to see some bachelors (hnnng, Lega) and yes to rivalries. Would like to see a personalisation expansion. Ranch competition sounds great; I'd love to see other farmers on the job.
If I can't get an industrial HM, then come on Marvelous, expand the world a bit! Give me a truck or a tractor or something! Some good ol' fashioned American agriculture! (lol Japan-based company lol but i can dream)
