I expressed frustration over this. Apparently that is terrible enough to deserve a condescending comment.
The game isn't Festivals de Harvest Moon, nor is it a primarily a relationship simulator. It is a farming game with other aspects added in to enhance the main topic of the game. Your statement regarding your overall disappointment in the game as though you are entitled to some super mini-game with waifus is (honestly) quite embarrassing. I know you are free to play the game as you see fit, but you shouldn't be expecting to have everything you want in the minor aspects of the game and then expect support.

I'd imagine at some point we're gong to start seeing "the developers are soooo laaazyyyy."
If you had bothered to read the rest of my comment, you'd see that it wasn't me overall saying the game is a disappointment. This single aspect of the game is, while I rather like most the rest of it. I did not expect support. I figured some may agree, some may disagree. Or even that the post would be ignored. However, I did not expect to be basically attacked over my opinion like this. On top of that I only mentioned it in the first place because others had brought it up and were displaying some similar sentiment (in both this thread and another). I don't understand why you are targeting me specifically over it.

I will never say the developers are lazy. I respect them and what they do. Don't assume things or put words in someone else's mouth. And I'd appreciate if you'd stop using the eye roll emoticon at me. In this context it comes off as condescending and insulting. I think you are being needlessly aggressive about this. We could have had a nice debate about how important the festival aspect is and what makes it good, but instead you immediately acted like I kicked a puppy or something. And continued to treat my opinion as if it's inherently wrong. Basically telling me that my personal experience does not matter.

Minor aspect or not, is it a crime to want the series to be the best that you can imagine? Isn't it human to be disappointed when you are hoping for something and then find out it's not going to happen? Does the fact I would like mini-game festivals (or dancing, I'd love for dancing like in 64 to come back) hurt anyone? Well, other than myself.

Anyway, whatever your problem is with me, I think it's best to just drop this conversation. Arguing like this will only cause even more problems. Let's just agree to disagree and let the thread move on.

On a lighter note I have been lurking forever on this game.

In general I am thrilled about it and like many of the new features that are going to make farming more fun and making money have a little more strategy. I enjoy the more realistic bartering that is going on in this game.

I am also thrilled with all the candidates and it will get impossible to choose who to marry this go round as the characters are faaaaaaaaaabulous.

Happy to be back in the forums and happy for Connect to a New World.

Soooo I wasn't able to trigger a birthday scene for Nadi even though it was clear weather, the appropriate time of day, and he has a yellow flower. Since Nurse Fin had the same issue with Klaus, i'm wondering if maybe there's no such thing as a birthday event for the person you're dating. Or, it's a glitch.

I saw text on the wiki for it (for Rega, at least) so there has to be some kind of event. I wish the requirements were more easily specified, though... I might actually go to the wiki and ask if someone knows at this point.

I found a blog that looks like they're celebrating Fritz's birthday (sorry, I can't read it myself)... but the pictures show that they're in HIS house, and they give him a cake to prompt the event. Not sure if it actually gives any useful info, but here's the link: http://ouchiniitai.jugem.jp/?cid=8
Just scroll/search for the part starting with 誕生日イベント

According to that blog, they gave Fritz a present in the morning, and then the event activated in the afternoon/evening. Hmmm...

(The event still activates in your own house, btw. You get a prompt like "it's muh hunny-bun's birthday" and you teleport to their place)

Bah. I guess I'll just have to live with not seeing it until someone uploads a video. It's good to know that there IS an event, though.

Hmm that seems very odd. Maybe they are trying to slow down how fast you gain LP by cutting down on events?

Awwww Fritz is so cute and happy!!! :) Maybe I'll give him a shot after all...

Slightly sad about the lack of festivals but the villager interactions and ability to have two children are pretty exciting! :lala:

aaaaaaaa look how cute he is he's all happy for his birthday
it's great there's a birthday event even if its requirements are a huge pain, but i do hope a concrete event trigger is discovered to make things easier on everyone in the long run!

Is it because the player's gift was a cake and not any other kind of gift? Maybe just a regular birthday present won't trigger it.

It isn't unrealistic; just unlikely. And those games, correct me if I'm wrong, were created under HM's original creator, whom has since left the franchise, so it's unlikely HM will ever be quite as deep as it used to be. I shall continue to hope, and you are free to do so as well! I just didn't want people upset over a comparison that really can't be made anymore.

we're in agreement on that point. I appreciate the improbability, but I will never give up hope that they will review the old games and maybe integrate some old aspects into the new games. :)
