Refusing request rewards?

What happens if you refuse the request reward? I'd experiment with it myself but I don't want to try it only for the villager to get mad and go "oh so you think you're too gooood for rewards!" and then reset because I accidentally unleashed their inner demon.. also I've had really bad experiences with resetting & shop inventories.. Do they make a big deal about you refusing the reward?

There's no penalty for rejecting request rewards.

If you really wanted to test it yourself, you could just save immediately before trying it.

Thank you!! Yeah I know, I was just curious haha, but didn't want to reset because last time I did that I didn't get flour in the shops for 2 seasons.
