RopeMaidenKirie wrote:Grats on beating it again! How long did it take you? :D I...don't remember Adams off the top of my head. Was he one of the engineers?
Has there been any word on when the backwards compatibility for ME2/3 is coming to X1?
I want to say 20 hours. I had the best shotgun in the game so anytime I ran into enemies where I wasn't in the Mako I just went everywhere guns blazing! Everything, literally everything minus bosses, died in one hit. Tali and Wrex were my main party and they had the same shotgun. The only time I changed the party was Noveria for story reasons. Every side quest is done save for Pinnacle Station because nothing carries over anyway and I do mean every quest; every collectable quest is done and don't really care if none of that carries over. I was a level 59 Shepard when I started and now I'll have a level 60 to import. Major choices I did:
Spoiler:
Romanced no one
Freed the rachni queen
Saved the Feros colony
Wrex alive
Kaidan died on Virmire
Council saved
Anderson as councilor
I'm too paragon and pure for this world!
Adams is the chief engineer of the original Normandy and doesn't come back until ME3. I forgot about him completely because I thought he was like Pressley; died, but not important enough to mention. I was wrong and felt kind of bad for forgetting him.
No word yet and I'm hoping it'll be done before ME:A comes out so I can romance Garrus!

I know! I got it out of fear that it isn't backwards compatible on Xbox One. Now I just need the PC to enjoy the game again; such a good game and I would contribute to a Pateron or something for BioWare to make Jade Empire 2. I already plan to back Psychonauts 2 once I have spare money, another good game by the way.

Holy cow I am so on this. Guess I need to reinstall Origin again!
I really hope that someday they revisit the Jade Empire universe. Also considering they are going for action-y type combat nowadays, it would be the perfect time to revisit it!
@Ronin - Not a bad playtime at all! I usually take about 25 hours on my super slow files where I 100% it, but normally around 18-19 when I'm going at a quicker speed.
"I'm too paragon and pure for this world" I am right here with you. I just for the life of me cannot do a full renegade run no matter what I do. Which sucks because I could be seeing so much new dialogue, but I just can't :/

It's probably my fastest time for beating the game after doing everything save Pinnacle Station.
I have done a renegade run and I just needed a box of puppies to make it all better.
Spoiler:
Killing Wrex was the worst thing I ever did in the trilogy I couldn't kill Samara off because there was no benefit to having Morinth around in ME3. The final romance scene with Liara and a renegade Shepard was pretty though.
Renegade Shepard is just such a jerk and I hate myself for making one; I could never do it again even though I've tried.

Yeah I totally agree. Some of the renegade options I will take though sometimes because they are kind of hilarious. But the big renegade options I never do.
Spoiler:
The first time I played through ME I didn't have enough charm or intimidate and I didn't do his personal quest either ._. I was yelling at the screen when Ash shot him lol

I had enough intimidate to spare him, but I killed him in cold blood.
My renegade Shepard was only paragon to one person: Liara.

I actually love renegade Shepard, lol. My 'canon' Shepard is a renegade one, although I guess she's not 100% renegade, as there are a few renegade decisions I can't go through with.
Spoiler:
I can never choose Morinth over Samara...I love Samara way too much. I also can't ever sabotage the cure for the genophage!
But I usually like the renegade interrupts more than the paragon ones. They're usually more satisfying, as weird as that sounds. Plus it feels like there are more of them? Maybe that's just me imagining things though.

Spoiler:
I actually sabotaged the genophage cure and saved Mordin. I thought if I did this he'd show up in the Citadel DLC. I was so upset that he doesn't, so now killing Wrex just doesn't seem worth it.

Spoiler:
If sabotaging the genophage made Mordin show up in the Citadel DLC i probably would have sabotaged it...I LOVE Mordin so much. Probably my second favorite character in the series : (
about the citadel dlc in general, and some ME3 spoilers
Spoiler:
That reminds me, I kind of wish we could access the dlc a bit sooner? I wish Thane and Mordin could be there, mostly. I feel like Femsheps who romanced Thane kind of get the short end of the stick in me3. I know they kind of tried to make it better in the citadel dlc with the video (which actually made me cry, I won't lie. one of the few times a game has ever REALLY made me cry), but I would have liked more time with Thane.
I'm all for sad romances, but it feels kind of crappy that unless you romanced Garrus in ME2, all of femshep's me2 romances don't work out, even though male shepard gets to keep all his romances? idk :^|

Spoiler:
I like what we got with Thane in the Citadel DLC, especially having his spirit say good-bye to Shepard at the end of the DLC. I can't decide though if Thane's romance or Solas's romance is sader. Thane is dead and Solas breaks the Inquisitor's heart. Where we get access to the DLC anyway I wait until after I save Miranda. Where you can access it you don't have her, Tali and Zaeed if you go right to the DLC. I want to enjoy the DLC with all of the sqaudies in tact.

IMO I like a halfway renegade. Like some of the general renegade stuff but not the major « Cow Poopy » decisions.
But I'm a paragon through and through.

Yeah, I'll do some renegade interrupts on bad guys because they deserve it, but if I can get things done peacefully I'll do it.
Spoiler:
Examples of renegade interrupts: shooting the fire line during Mordin's loyalty mission, pushing the ecplise member out of the window during Thane's recruitment and shooting the rookie ecplise merc during Samara's recruitment mission.

These are the same interrupts that I always do too, how funny. Wonder what sort of morality system MEA is going to have this time around.
I really hope they rebalance it at least if it's kept similar.

How funny, plus it makes some fights easier. Oh, I forgot some more:
Spoiler:
The one right at the start of Miranda's loyalty mission. In Kasumi's mission where you shoot priceless artwork; I love shutting Donovan Hawk up.
I think that's all, but I swear I'm mostly paragon.
Since it's the fourth game in the series it would be weird not to include the morality system and the interrupts. Hopefully it isn't like ME3; I hated that version. I'd rather have the ME2 morality system back even though it's a bit more difficult to pull off the charm and intimidate options compared to ME1.
Edit: I may go back to Mass Effect 1 again with my Talimancer and my Liaramancer. I'm holding onto my Thanemancer when Mass Effect 2 comes out. I've also been thinking of going through DAI again for those difficulty trophies and becoming a Hardingmancer.
Edit 2: ARGH! Okay, I don't know why it won't, but the Xbox One will only load one save file for Mass Effect. I loaded two more files to the cloud to play them at some point, but I can't load them. I want to know why, but I'm not having any luck finding that out either. I'm fine just having a canon run, but it is going to be annoying to start two of my files up again, especially making them again. I'm glad I kept their codes just in case I mess up their appearance.
Edit 3: So after experiencing the Pride Demon boss battle on nightmare difficulty it has turned me off to difficulty trophies overall. I don't know if you've guys have done it, but it is one tough fight so early in the game. I'm currently trying to figure out why my other two Mass Effect files can't be used on my Xbox One and once I do I'm going to go back to playing it.
Edit 4: Yay! I finally figured it out! I can go back and play my two other Shepards when I want to!
Edit 5: Let's not get this topic locked! Which series from BioWare do you guys think gives the best choices and highest replay value? I think it's Dragon Age, especially Origins and Inquisition. Comparing to Mass Effect and Jade Empire, Dragon Age gives better choices because it isn't restricted to a morality system and encourages players to choose a different race and class to play as.
BioWare 2nd Official Topic - Andromeda Lead Director Leaves

Since the other topic, which can be seen here, is WAY past the ten day limit, I thought a new one should come up.
We have new news, but it isn't good; the lead director for Andromeda has left BioWare. Article here.
