fruit trees

Do fruit trees die? When there is a really bad storm I check my crops and my fruit trees have turned to stumps. How do I keep this from happening?

that actually shouldn't be happening. fruit trees can only be destroyed with the axe,and as much as I know, all that the stormy/blizzard weather does is lower the star rank of your crops/fruits

This. The only things I can think of are:

1. You trees have... like... 1 star point. Maybe the storm takes them down to 0 star points, and they die...? The means they'd had to have been through several storms before, though. Try putting fertilizer on them? That will raise the star rank.
1. You have some illegal copy that does things to ruin your gaming experience (a lot of games have these, to discourage downloading them illegally).
