Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley Announced by Nastume
I personally think we should not write off The Lost Valley just yet. It could be good. It could even be a good Harvest Moon game.
I would wait to see gameplay footage of it though, as I mostly relied on screenshots for Hometown Story and was pretty burned by how the camera and UI were in that game. Personal preference things.

It seems this whole debacle is putting some people on the fence and creating an hostile evironment.Osuchin wrote:How do you know it will be a travesty? And since localization will be done in-house there should be better communication on translating it.
You are either siding with the filthy western traitors of Natsume and their upcoming Harvest Moon bastardization
Or you are either siding with the pompous weeabos of Xseed and their noname upcoming Bokumono localization
Expecting and wanting both games you say? Nonsense, this is war, you should either be with the enemy, or the other enemy, there is no middleground.
In the forum that's going to depend on what Cher decides, nothing else.getaris wrote:Except that SoS is not a Harvest Moon game. Lost Valley is.Anonymous Fish wrote:Story of Seasons is HM12 so it should be in the HM subforums.

Get used to that or you'll have a hard time when the games release.
And personally it can be different for each one. To me SoS is the Harvest Moon game regardless of the title, because I associate that name with the BokuMono series. Not saying I won't give Lost Valley a chance if the gameplay videos look promising, I just won't consider it a "Harvest Moon" game.

They are games. Mere products meant to take away money from you and others.
If this is how you see the whole thing, there's nothing we can do to help you, saddly.
In other news (?), apparently all the excitement surrounding Story of Seasons (and now Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley) has caused A New Beginning to start selling out everywhere as people are getting more aware of the series.
Who knows, this "Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons WAR" thing could bring in a bunch of new interested parties.
Though we might not always agree in our opinions of the various Bokujō Monogatari / Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons games, I like it when there are new fans to talk about those opinions WITH, if you get what I mean. Even when we disagree on which games or characters are our favorites, this is still one of my favorite fan communities, and we tend to be a pretty civil group. Most of the time.

This is a forum for the Bokujo Monogatari series by Marvelous. Which SoS is. So if either of these two games gets shafted to the other games section, it technically should be Lost Valley (not saying that it won't be a good game, we can't say either way yet). Of course, they could both be in the Harvest Moon section, but that would probably confuse people even more.getaris wrote:Except that SoS is not a Harvest Moon game. Lost Valley is.

Unless there are captions or some other form of titling that shows where each game originates from.sadeofraine wrote:This is a forum for the Bokujo Monogatari series by Marvelous. Which SoS is. Possibly even a restructuring of how the forum is laid out.
But that has to do with what Cher is will to do and plans to do
And given the work Cher has with both upcoming games...

Cherubae probably knows best, but I certainly don't see any indicator that this forum is about Bokujo Monogatari.sadeofraine wrote:This is a forum for the Bokujo Monogatari series by Marvelous.getaris wrote:Except that SoS is not a Harvest Moon game. Lost Valley is.

The top of the page even says:
That tells me that the first focus of the site is Natsume's branch of the series. Yes, until a few days ago, Harvest Moon was all about Bokomono, but now they are just two related game series.Ushi No Tane - Harvest Moon
The forum for Ushi No Tane, a Harvest Moon fansite
It's up to the admin of the site if they want to change it.
Take it down by 15 notches, dude.Anonymous Fish wrote:It seems this whole debacle is putting some people on the fence and creating an hostile evironment.Osuchin wrote:How do you know it will be a travesty? I don't think we can know what Cher will do with the forum until she says. Saying it will be HM only or all or none is just speculation at this point as we only just recently heard of these titles. When Cher wrote the main page header, SoS did not exist. Going by her posts she is still deciding what she will do. So we don't know if she will cover SoS, TLF, or both or neither.
What we do know is she is playing CNW and has given us some information on it already, as well as a placeholder with CNW/SoS info, so I assume we will most likely get a guide on it.

@muse:
Yeah, I think it would be too extreme to make this Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons/Bokumono only, but I feel like the best course of action would be continuing the "harvest moon" part of the forums with the games actually named "harvest moon" and adding a new section for the new "Story of Seasons" series.
Well, that makes sence... Since the name would be new in Japan.

Wow. This is all certainly interesting o_O.
I don't really know what to think yet. But all I really know is that I think it would be great if both SoS and LV are done well and are successes. I could always use more farming games and it seems like there might be room for more than one well-known farming series at this point if the cards are played right.

The question is will it just be Harvest Moon converted into katakana: ハーベストムーン?
Or will it be the equivalent translation into onyomi and kunyomi?
Which is meigetsu: 名月.
