Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley Announced by Nastume
And here I speculated about Natsume a couple days ago releasing their own "Harvest Moon" and everyone shot me down...
I hope you are all pleasantly surprised, this is what I was hoping for. Hopefully Natsume can pull off a great game. They will be releasing more information during their E3 interview, and CeeCee is answering some questions on the Natsume community forums.

I don't recall anything of the sort on my part.zygirl wrote:And here I speculated about Natsume a couple days ago releasing their own "Harvest Moon" and everyone shot me down....
I remember reading months back about the Lost Valley trademark by Natsume.
And I had a feeling Natsume wasn't going to divest themselves from the series given their North American branch identifies themselves with it.
It is a little pretentious to say everyone was shooting you down.
Though I do have to say, that I didn't think they were going to split the franchise. xD

Part of me is sad about the whole Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon thing and that I won't be seeing the familiar Natsume blue that I look forward too every time I get a new Farm Story game...
But the other part of me is like totally pumped that once I lose my hype/drive to play one game I can switch to the other.
TWO GAMES COMING OUT SUPER CLOSE TO EACHOTHER WOOO!!!

I should specify, everyone who happened to comment on my thread (which was titled a bit generically and might have not been picked up on). I am just pleased that they are going to be releasing something and getting to use their name.
The past few weeks I've been sitting on my butt polishing my lolJapanese so that I can spoil myself as much as possible with Connect stuff, today I decide to take a break and go on Ushi and what the heck is this
I'm confused, just... so so so confused. The wait for E3 is just painful at this point, curiosity is killing me I can't even. Especially interested in the art style they'll be using, somehow the first thing that came to mind were those crude portraits I've seen in some bad, bad visual novels, even though I'm sure no company would ever mess up that badly
also this whole drama is honestly enjoyable to watch, never EVER would've thought the Internets would be arguing over a farming sim, I swear this is kind of amazing in its own way
on another note MAAAAN I'd totally kill for a Back to Nature sequel but I honestly doubt it'll happen.

Looks like Natsume has a Q&A up for questions to be asked.

From the few questions that have been asked, they aren't really letting it slip that this is the first Natsume-developed game in the Harvest Moon main series and they also said the art will be similar to previous titles.
I'm feeling a bit queasy.

Wait, what!?! Huh, how, why, what, they??? Where, I don't. It can't be??? I mean... I just don't. Huh???????
Being more serious, I'm just so confused what to do right now as a fan of the series, I'm a BOKUMONO fan, which I thought was a HARVEST MOON fan, but Bokumono is now being called Story of Season so I was prepared to become a STORY OF SEASON fan, but now Natsume is making their own "rip-off" Bokumono and calling it Harvest Moon, but it's really not Harvest moon because it's not made by Marvelous! The real Harvest Moon is Story of Seasons! Oh my, my, my....
I just don't where to go, I'm seriously thinking of selling all my Harvest Moon games and starting fresh with Story of Season just to ease the confusion. I am interested in what Natsume could be making though. I can't be the only one very confused? And I'm a bit upset with Natsume because whether it's business or not, this is a cheap shot and they're so far marketing as if it was a Bokumono game, but it's not!
I don't know if Cher will see this, but I know this must be VERY overwhelming for you! Please take your time and I'm sure you can figure out what to do with your site next. Cher you may can even ask for opinions on what to do, I'm sure the members here would love to help you decide what to do from here on out.
But this is just way more than a bit confusing, things where complicated as the new Xseed announcement but I was picking up the pieces of the puzzle and putting them in the right order. Now Nastume just kicked the puzzle added new pieces and I don't know how to put it all back together....
But really.

What it's called for NA releases is irrelevant. The new "harvest moon" is only that in name. Its like what Square used to do to SaGa before the ps1 era.getaris wrote:Except that SoS is not a Harvest Moon game. Lost Valley is.Anonymous Fish wrote:Story of Seasons is HM12 so it should be in the HM subforums.
If you want forums for the upcoming Natsume travesties make a new subforum called Not Harvest Moon and stick them in there.
Get used to that or you'll have a hard time when the games release.

Well, they did say yes/no/maybe before posting this :
But yeah. As Fin said, there won't be any concrete info until next week.CeeCee wrote:The art style will remain similar to past Harvest Moon games; the art style has definitely evolved over time and across the different games (and not just in terms of technology). We'll have screenshots next week for E3's launch -- you'll hopefully be able to judge the style from those
