But that was from months ago, so the best we have is late this year.

Now that CeeCee's been a bit more active and we've gotten some more details, I'm warming up to TLV. I hope that everything comes together cohesively, and as I've mentioned in another thread, that they continue to do things to show that they know what fans want from a farm simulation game.
(And on an unrelated note, I kinda think their train simulation sounds like fun. :D)
At this point, the thing I want most is some art!

Well we will get to see gameplay at E3, and I suppose the chickens and dog plushies are based of the art. xDcenten wrote:At this point, the thing I want most is some art!
But I think you are referring to character and background art. Or maybe just in the general sense.
Which I have to agree, especially since I want to see the art style they will be going for in this.

Hmm. That chicken design looks very similar to the older HM chicken designs up to, oddly, ANB, where they added the cute little tail-feather sticking up and dropped the wattles on the face like a butterfly-shape. (Also where the toupee cows came into being).Galanthus wrote:Anyone else see this?

The plushes are said to be based on designs from TLV. Personally, I think they're really cute and would be happy if the in-game animals looked similar.
I guess the most legit way this could turn out is if this series is a branching towards a more nostalgic farming simulation closer to the earlier Bokumono titles and the Story of Seasons franchise is a more complex version, but without further news I can only say those chickens look awfully like Marvelous' chicken designs.
Oh, I hadn't noticed the plushie link before. That chick/egg plush is awesome. I wonder what they will be doing for a preorder plushie? Assuming it's good and the information they provide at E3 and leading up to the release continues to be awesome, I'll definitely reconsider my hesitation on preordering.Osuchin wrote:Well we will get to see gameplay at E3, and I suppose the chickens and dog plushies are based of the art. xDcenten wrote:At this point, the thing I want most is some art!

And yes! Referring to character sprites, screenshots, village pictures, etc. I'd like it if they did a full website like MAQL does for BokuMono's releases. It's fun watching out for new updates as it gets closer. (Plus having everything in one place is nice for seeing if there's new data.)
ETA:
I was thinking about this some more, and while I still think it sounds cool, I'm surprised that MAQL doesn't own the characters like the Harvest Goddess or the Harvest Sprites. You expect some similarities among similar genres (like that farming simulation would involve farms), but I wouldn't expect them to be able to use the exact same names. Or are they called something completely different in BokuMono? I thought those bits were fairly literal translations though.
Oh my « Harvest Goddess » guys, now when newbies come on we're no longer going to be able to say, "Natsume doesn't make the games!"
Seriously though, I'm pretty excited to see where this goes. It might also make the idea of an HM64 remake more viable, because I think Natsume has a bigger customer base for that than Marvelous does.

Well as I said earlier, they have different names in Japan. Mainly because of their names are in Japanese.centen wrote:ETA:

For example the Harvest Goddess is called Megami (女神).
Which simply translates as "goddess."
That's true. xDEmurii wrote:Oh my « Harvest Goddess » guys, now when newbies come on we're no longer going to be able to say, "Natsume doesn't make the games!"
That completely slipped my mind.
EDIT:
Well that is what the articles said they were going for.getaris wrote:CeeCee says the game reminds her more of the older Harvest Moon, like HM64 and BTN.
Nice that it is at least seeming it is coming out that way to the developers.

@Sir Stardust: That is FANTASTIC.
@Osu: Oh is she never called the Harvest Goddess in Japan? I was curious if it was just in particular games or not that she was just called Goddess.
@Lon Lon: I just read back through several pages, and I am glad I did. Your post was WORTH IT.
@Emurii: I know. ;-; I've been struggling with that too. "They don't make the games! Except when they do!"
That panda, I just remembered I forgot to buy it. And I want it. I meant to get it, as I do like Natsume's plushies...
I may be ordering plushies from ebay... The panda and these new ones.
Edit: But then again, given how I have heard a few people complain that their Ember plushies had holes in them, I don't know if I think the price tag is worth it, if I have to risk getting damaged merchandise...
