Xbox has been recalled.Saw it on the news last night.

I was watching the world news last night and they said that Xbox is being recalled because of the power cord heating up and starting fires.

I have had 3 xbox this past year and they all burned out cause I played them for one month ...at 4 hours a day.Usally after work.

my xbox can run WEEKS (I usually do run them for weeks. too lazy to wait for the loading screen)

only once has my xbox ever turned kinda hot. and it was still loading fast. ONLY TWICE, has my xbox froze from long play time.

I have my xbox for....about 2-3 years now. I usually leave it on for a month. I only turn it off to switch games.

BTW, I am telling the truth. nobody beleives me, but its true.

I believe you, but that's a terrible idea.

My XBox is as old as yours and I've used it extensively with no problems. This must just be a problem with a newer batch of them.

My friend had a Xbox but returned it 3 days later for a different one and had to return that a day later...there was a problem with the batch the store got....

yah xbox sucks its all about the ps2. Where I live if my ps2 breaks down i gotta call this place then i go to this place(half a hour away) hand mine in and get a new one right on the spot

So....when yours breaks down you get a new one? That isnt formidable for the xbox. it never breaks down for me. henceforth, no store trips

Apparently it does affect my XBox - the recall affects all older ones.

In the United States, the recall affects one of every three cord models for Xbox consoles built before Oct. 23, 2003. In Europe, it affects devices built before Jan. 13, 2004.

I guess I'll get it replaced.

getting it replaced would cause serious reprecussions to your saved games would it not? Most of my save games cant fit on my memory card (like murakumo. 1 save file is almost 4k blocks X_X)

by the way.....how many blocks does a xbox have? it said 50,000+ when I got it. but after 10,000+ blocks saved, there is still 50,000+ blocks left..

I think you guys need to read the actual reports. They're not recalling the Xbox console. They're recalling just the power cords.

You don't need to get a whole new console, just a new power cord. Sheesh.
