I like the name Woofio. XD Seems pretty close to the original name to me.

Woofio huh?
not bad, I think I'd have preferred "Woofie" but it's not like we see him that often, it's not that big a deal. I'm just glad it didn't stay Wantantan cause that'd have been weird =/

I Like Woofio a lot! I think it was a good decision. And yeah as for the release date all they have been saying is "winter" it was "winter 2014" but idk.... I feel like winter could mean before spring starts in 2015 XD
Also his answers for the interview are really interesting... like tweaking the difficulty of the game and such.

wait they mentioned tweaking the difficulty? where is that?
I never found the time to read it and I figured it was just 'what was your inspiration' type questions..

To quote Yoshifumi Hashimoto:
In the Japanese version we don’t have a title change, of course, so it is more of a change for Harvest Moon fans. But Story of Seasons is a new IP, and as you said, there will be newcomers, so we’re talking closely with the US side about how to make it more friendly for new players. The difficulty level is something we’re thinking about adding to, or tweaking for the beginning of the game, or having different difficulty settings you can select from in the beginning (which the Japanese version didn’t have) — so that’s one of things that we’re trying to concentrate on.
So he's only thinking about it. So it may or may not happen.

It's almost all the way at the bottom.

oh my « Harvest Goddess » that'd be so freaking nice. I'm not a new player, but I've noticed things have just gotten harder and harder since FOMT and I play these games because they were simple but fun, if I wanted a challenging game I'd play something like LOZ. this series has kinda been leaving me behind cause I've not been able to play them, and this game sounds particularly complicated (I don't have even the slightest clue how the whole shipping thing works..) so a difficulty setting would be WONDERFUL not only for those who need/want things a bit easier but also for those who want the challenge like Melody.
I mean, it's not in a company's best interest to cater to fans who want a challenge, because that limits who can play, but catering to to the opposite limits who wants to play. I think if they can pull this off, it would only bring positive things to the series.

I would be very interested in a difficulty setting.. I typically like to play through any game on "easy" to get a feel for the beginning before I restart and play my actual file for the challenge. Though I would buy it even if they don't add that component, it would be a great addition.

It is. Cam and Reina are under Natsume's Harvest Moon title so XSeed can't use their names. I think that was the reason why they're back to Kamil and Licorice.

Even though xSEED can't use they're names we still can use them.

I believe technically they aren't copyrighted names, so XSeed
could use them, but they don't want to because they don't want to step on any toes. They also want to establish Story of Seasons as their own translation project, and not start off by using translations from another team.
So I don't think it's that Natsume trademarked the names, exactly, just that XSeed and Marvelous doesn't want to use them because they want to establish Story of Seasons as it's own IP in the US, separate from Harvest Moon and Natsume.
As for the difficulty setting, I'm not too nuts on it, but I'll play on hard or normal anyway if we get one, probably. So whatever makes people happiest is fine by me. I like the harder HMs like IoH, SI, and HoLV though. The only thing I don't like is waiting 4 or 5 in game years to unlock a breed of cow, heh.

I meant we still can call them cam and Reina if we wanted to. Like at home. But yeah, I understand what you're saying.

how come you don't like it? what could it possibly bring that'd be a bad thing? I'd think you'd be all for it cause it'd give you a hard mode to play on without having to put up with the rest of the fandom complaining about how hard it is and pressuring the company to not make such games again.. (I mean, if I'm not mistaken, isn't IOH/SI the most hated games by the fandom because of how hard they are? I know I despise them cause I was unable to get passed two in-game weeks, and I even got it in JP at a con and couldn't get passed the first tutorial day..)
I guess I don't really understand the position because I'm all about options, options are always a good thing. things that can allow the player to personalize the game as much or as little as they want, represent as many kinds of players as possible, and meet as many player's needs as possible. but I guess that may come from being the part of society that nothing is aimed at so any time I can make a piece of media represent me is important to me^^ plus I'm kinda getting sick of wasting 40+ bucks on a game I can't play..I don't have the funds for that anymore..

Yeah, I totally understand why people would want a difficulty setting. I think my worry comes from games where the difficulty doesn't mean anything other than padding though. The RF games are a big offender of this, IMHO. Their difficulty isn't to make the bosses more skilled or tricky, they just made them sponges.
If SoS is like that, where the difficulty is just things cost more or less, then I'd... not enjoy that as much. I'd prefer it if it could somehow be like.... skill related. Not just time or money sponges. Like for a boss on hard mode, imho you should give it extra moves, not just more HP. For SoS I don't know exactly what I'd want them to do but, perhaps give us the sun/water mechanic from SI or something for people who liked it? That would be more difficult than the standard crop farming, anyway.
I hope that makes sense. It's just that a lot of the difficulty settings in games are just, well, time wasters. They don't actually make it more difficult, they just make it take longer to seem more difficult.
