so-far, the only characters I see on there that don't look like old HM characters is the dude on the left, and maybe the two girls next to him. (and even with them until we get clearer shots they just look like the kind of characters one would see on a poster somewhere advertising some product in Japan)
the one with pigtails kinda looks like Alice from HoLV, the other dude looks like Kurt, and the last one looks like Cliff.
so basically, the few characters they haven't blatantly or not blatantly ripped off are super basic.
even I expected better than this from them..

If those are indeed candidates, I am definitely disappoint. They are rather...plain. As if they glanced over old HM art, copy pasted them into photoshop, tweaked it here and there and BAM. New candidates! I won't get up in arms until actual confirmation, but...so far? Not very impressed.

The art isn't terrible, but it's not what I'd call good, either. It looks so generically cutesy that if I saw the game on a store shelf I wouldn't buy it. I think maybe they were aiming for a classic HM style, but in my personal opinion they missed the mark by a mile and landed somewhere between personality-less marketing and the uncanny valley.

I don't think they look like copies at all. Vaguely similar maybe but far from copies. I rather like their designs, they're adorable and the shading looks nice too. From the stuff I've seen lately the cutesiness is refreshing for me.
That one bit of game graphics also looks nice. I'm interested in seeing more.

But on a more serious note, I feel like they were trying a little too hard to make it like the old ones (character design wise anyways). While I'm not gonna point any fingers yet, it does feel a bit off to me.
Looks like the Harvest King might be in the game after all. Under the possible Underworld guy there is a little bald man who looks pretty important and short of mystical. Also there is a Harvest Sprite and a pretty regular looking character in the same picture. I wonder why that normal looking boy/girl is in there with them.
