Trees

I am currently starting year 9 and have worked hard to get all my crops to a 5 star. Now I'm going to work on flowers and trees. I've tried making tree seed in the seed maker but this doesn't seem to give me more stars. Am I doing it wrong or do you just have to get higher star rankings from doing requests. I'm not sure of anyway to put fertilizer sticks around a tree, I did do that for my tea leaves though. Maybe I missed something in the guide...

Trees can get to rank 5 without having to make seeds and replanting them.

Just keep them well fertilized as they grow

To fertilize trees, you need to till individual spots around the tree, without turning them into trenches. That should let the fertilizer sticks touch the tree.

And like Getaris said, since trees grow continuously, you don't need to convert them into seeds to reach a higher rank. With enough fertelizer, they should eventually reach 5-stars on their own. ^^

Thank you all, I will see if I can do this with the fertilizer. I didn't think after you planted the tree that you could put any fertilizer sticks anywhere near the tree. Live and learn.
