Hey! I'm kinda late to the game but I recently got it and I'm conflicted between Neil and Allen. This topic has probably already been convered but I wanted to know from people who have married/ are presuing either one of them to tell me pros/cons

Neil is very sweet at heart, but comes off cold at first.
Allen is very belittling and patronizing even in later heart events.

I married Neil once, dated Allen in another file, then unlocked Soseki and fell in love with him.
Out of the two, I would say Neil. I liked Allen at first, but after awhile his belittling just made me so mad at him.

I would go Neil.

Neil is a guy who is kinda 'short' in speech in the beginning, but even after a couple of events, he becomes shy and sweet, I'm at red heart with him now and he never has a bad thing to say, it's always being sweet and blushes a lot.

But with Allen on the other hand, in ways he MAY be an ok-ish guy but he is so full of himself, and it's always about him and no one else. I have watched many videos about this game and even when you marry Allen, he actually isn't that much better!

I would defiantly go Neil, BUT the choice is still yours, these are just OUR opponions. Good luck deciding!

I always go for Allen

Whilst his attitude never really changes, he does have some pretty cute lines after marriage/while dating, especially at festivals.
Plus he is totally way hotter than Neil, especially his blush face <3

Well, we can't decide for you since it is against the forum rules. Both suck imo, but I'll give you what I know.

Neil:
- A stereotypical tsundere (in English version, at least).
- Occasionally he is insensitive to a person's feeling and his words can sound harsh, but that is because he doesn't know how to properly express himself (aka socially inept).

Allen:
- A family-friendly version of kichiku megane with narcissistic and possessive side.
- Will baby you by calling you princess and treat you like one.

...Neil.
I dunno, Allen's just so controversial, and from what I've seen, he's very patronizing and it just doesn't let up. I personally think of him as Michelle's counterpart, but without the gold-digging.
Basically, he's Edward Cullen.

Neil is a bit better. It all depends on what language you play in:
Japanese: Coarse speech patterns, which come off as rude, but it's more because he's socially awkward.
English: COMPLETE TSUNDERE ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY

Well, I can't decide for you, but in my personal opinion, I've found Neil to be adorable.

Allen drives me crazy with his comments and dialogue, so I've never married him. But I've married Neil, and he says the cutest, most awkward things. I absolutely love Neil, but that's just me.

He comes off cold and rude at first, but once he warms up to you, he's so awkward and adorable it's just... it's... EEEEEE~!!!

*ahem* I apologize for that outburst, but after marriage, Neil's dialogue gets cuter.
After a good meal he says something like:

Allen takes a very specific type of person to love. If he ever ticks you off with his comments, then you probably shouldn't marry him because he never stops completely. Then again, Neil isn't super amazing imo, but he likely is better than Allen.

I personally would choose Neil, but Allen is very interesting in his own way. Like others said, it's a specific type of person who likes Allen, and you have to love all of him since he doesn't really change much XD

Neil is really sweet and adorable. To me he seems like the type that just builds up walls cause he's afraid but once he lets you when he's a keeper.

I preffer Allen because he plays with words, just like I do in real life. I love his sarcastic way of saying everything. It makes he looks intelligent.

I don't like Neil because he's a rebel, and it makes him look like a stupid kid to me.

Yeah, Allen does seem to belittle, and that's what I don't like about him. No offense to those of you that do.

Same. It takes a strong personality to be able to stand your ground when someone teases you or uses sarcasm; it can easily be taken the wrong way, which doesn't make it pleasant for either side. If you understand when someone is jokingly pulling your strings and when they're just being nasty, then it can make for really nice battles of wit - but it takes two to tango.

I personally dislike the thought of dating Neil, because he's so negative and just plain nasty sometimes. "Gee, don't talk to me", "leave me alone", "stop being nice to me", smacktalking about whatever's not up his alley, calling everything related to love 'embarrassing'... not things a girl likes to hear. I'm aware of the 'he's a hurt guy who just needs some love', but I'm not the kind of person to be hurt all the time just so he can sort his personal issues. Pretty ironic that some people who favour Neil call Allen mean, but to each their own I suppose.

It really depends on if you like Allen's type. You have to be able to basically shrug off some of his comments. For me, personally, I'm fine, but some people might not be able to deal with some of what he says. Neil, however, is so tsundere that I can group him with others in the tsundere category with no regrets. It depends on who you are as a person to decide who's better.

I "divorced" both Neil and Allen by starting a new game file and saving over those games....I think it would be interesting to marry all of the bachelors and then start a game file to keep with the one you "love" the most....when I start playing again it will be with Amir, whom I married and had a child with and would never think of "divorcing" him because he's just so sweeeeeet.
