How to add star points to trees?

I know there are some topics which already discuss this, but I forgot which.
All I know is that I can make some seed from the fruits to add half - star points. So it'll take nine years to get five star seeds if I have no access to the five-star fruits from the request rewards. And, there is a glitch on the apples. I can only add the stars to 4.5 stars max no matter how many times I try.
