3DS or DS version?

Hello all, I was thinking about picking this game up (the bees and alpacas are winning me over) and I just got a new 3DS and was going to buy it but a lot of customer comments say that the 3DS version freezes and lags making it hard to play or impossible. The same customers say that the DS version is better but doesn't have as many features.

What I would like to know is, is the 3DS version safe or should I just go the DS route instead?

So it may depend on when you got it, then. I haven't gotten past the first Spring on mine, but I got it this year, so it may be better, considering the port was released in 2011.

The 3ds one is fine for me, then again I have the Europe one. I think natsume offered a return for glitched cartridges so I would assume new ones have been fixed.

The eShop version of the 3DS game never crashes, so if you want it on the 3ds get it that way.

I hope you're right. I've heard other HM games have had issues before (mainly only Harvest Moon DS specifically) and I somehow managed to get a reprint as a present. So hopefully they did re-release ToTT's for NA.

You might be on to something there, I dug further into the customer reviews and if you go through the 2013-2014 reviews they were a lot more positive and only a few ran into the freezing and crashing.

Yeah I was toying with that idea too. I dunno, I like having a physical copy of my games (that and going through the instruction booklet in my hands rather than on a screen always felt better to me) but those are just nitpicky things on my part. If it comes down to that, I'll do that.

Thank you guys who all responded! I wanted to see more inputs besides those reviews and it sounds like it's gotten better than when it originally launched. I'm still on the fence on getting it, but your responses really make me feel better about it if I do get it. Thank you very much!

Just to be safe, I'd stick with the normal DS version.
