Usually downloads are released at just one time, as an example let us say, Midnight EST. Yes, that means PST people would get it at 9pm, but I'm unsure how that is unfair as that is how everything with a release date "online" works, because everyone gains access at the same moment. Some companies use EST, some use PST, it is pretty rare to see another timezone used as the "release date", and that often happens to be whatever is more convenient to the physical headquarters/online servers of the company involved.

It is LESS fair for those on the East Coast generally if it is a competitive MMORPG only, and even then, the serious players will take vacation and break the terms of service (account sharing in particular) in order to get the "First!" achievement, which is at best a vanity item.

I'm getting the physical copy of games from Amazon, and although I'm not on the west coast, I get my summer games significanly later than other MST states because I live in Arizona. (We don't practice daylight savings time.)

Changing the internal clock of your 3DS won't do anything (except mess up the anti TimeTravel functions of certain games), the game will not be available until Nintendo flags the game on their server as "released".

I only meant unfair in the sense that people on the East coast have to stay up later whereas I can download my copy at 9pm and still have plenty of time to start it before needing to get some sleep. If it's released at midnight EST, then great! I guess we'll see since the eShop doesn't list a time zone for the release date, or at least it didn't when I last checked. :P

Having a kid finally taught me a valuable life lesson. The body needs sleep. If you sleep 8 hours a day, then just go to bed at a normal time and get the game when you wake up. Don't wreck your health over getting a video game 4 hours earlier!

I used to be the kind of person who would get so anxious over game releases that I would throw up, but now I set a good example for my daughter instead... really it made me a calmer person. I know it isn't always just thay easy for everyone (I have anxiety for a lot of other stuff still), but things like that and meditation and distraction help me a little.

Seriously don't think that a couple hours of play-time is going to make any difference in this game. Sure I want to play it, but I'm not holding my breath until I have it in my hands.

Maybe not the way you play it! ;D

I was just curious when the download would be available. No big deal if I have to wait until 9, midnight, or the next day.

I'm picking it up at GameStop. They might have it ready for me at 10:00 when they open, or I might have to wait until they get mail that day (generally around 2:00). I have the day off of work so I'll be playing something while I wait either way. So I'm good.

for those who will get the DLC as well: would anyone be interested to play multiplayer some time? because I haven't played multiplayer so far, but would certainly be interested :)

I'm probably going to spend the first weekend or even week unlocking Lives, Story, new towns, leveling (slowly), and figuring out which combat style suits me best, but I will definitely be up for some odd hours MP after being totally consumed. ;)

(Remind me to do my PT first each day though, or else I might need shoulder surgery...)

Can we play from different regions? I'm NA and I assume your EU.

I sure hope so. it didn't say anything about being region-locked in the explanation.
Multiplayer mode allows you to enjoy your game with other players via wireless communication. Through local wireless, you can play with anyone who is playing nearby. Through online multiplayer, you can play with people on your friend list wherever they are! By selecting invite, you can invite other players to visit your world. Alternatively, by selecting visit, you can visit another player's world. By teaming up with other players, you may be able to defeat powerful monsters you couldn't beat alone! You can also help one another out by trading items you want or need. You should definitely give it a try! A maximum of three people can play together in the same world at one time. ...

I still haven't decided if I'm picking this up or not. :<
I haven't beaten hyrule warriors, prof. layton vs phoenix wright or smash bros (Can smash bros be beaten? Either way I'm certainly not done with it.) and next month I'm definitely getting Wii U smash bros. So many good games these past months, it's hard to keep up! I'm actually rather lucky at this moment as I have enough extra cash right now for these games, but still, I don't like buying so many in succession... I like to play one into the ground before I purchase another. Hnnng but I've been waiting for this to happen since they announced this game in Japan. What to do, what to do.

well I would highly suggest it. it's a really good game. the story isn't hard but still interesting and with all the lifes you have so much to do and so many possibilities :)

So am i off, or is the dlc not in the eshop? (or can i only see the dlc if i buy the game?) The price of the DLC is what will decide if i buy the game itself or not today. i was hoping it'd be listed since i'll be going to gamestop this evening to pick up the gengar event code.

in the EU version you could only access and download the DLC over the game. so after starting the game on you 3ds you have the options "start game" and "playable content". when you click on playable content (you need internet for that) it shows you the origin island dlc plus the price
