What does the Skateboard and Snowboard do? Does it just helps with traveling? I haven't unlock Oracle yet and haven't make it to Year 1 Winter, but I've always been curious about these two items.

They only "help" you go down the mountain faster (skateboard in spring-summer-autumn, snowboard in winter).

They're pretty much useless space wasters that you must get if you want the other items the Oracle can give you.

So what you're saying is I can't get the other more useful items like the special cart without getting those first?
Also, I'm assuming they move faster than the horse. If they move at the same speed as the strongest horse than I don't see the point as to why they are in the game since there's no way to expand the backpack space and even storage is limited by pages. I've already cramped my storage with little over 5 pages and I'm only in Year 1.

It is very fast, but it only works downhill and it's hard to control.

But the fact that you can't carry the car with you AND that you can just use the owl to do the same thing instantly means they are 100% useless.

If you get the skateboard, you should be able to get the Oracle's other requests during spring, summer, and fall.
If you don't mind on missing out on her different requests during the winter, then you can just avoid completing her snowboard request. The snowboard request only shows up during winter, and not completing it shouldn't prevent you from seeing her clothing and cart requests during other seasons.

Oh well, I wish I had heard that before. I would have one more space in my inventory.

That's very helpful. That will save me a space at the very least.
And another thing, does dropping items inside your house causes items to disappear the next day?
If it does, does it count as litter?
I know dropping items outside will cause them to disappear the next day.
Since space is limited, maybe I could drop things I don't use on the floor and hopefully it stays there no matter what.

Yes, leaving items on the ground, even in your house, will cause them to eventually disappear.
I'm pretty sure that the only thing that counts as littering is dropping items into the towns and rivers around the mountain, though.

Ah, too bad. It would be nice to leave things around the house.
