So I finished the 2nd arc of RF4 about a month ago and I was just wondering how long it took you guys to trigger it? I know that it is a random event but I'm just curious approximately how much longer I will have to wait. I'm hoping it won't be too much longer but then again I have only seen about 10 random events so far so it could take awhile...

Ugh... 5 seasons... I was playing normally, rised some skills to max and then I got impatient. I followed the advice to invite dylas and amber to my party and I got the event immediately...

The first time took 2 in game years and that's taking away the 5 year time skip with the kid. The second time took about 2 seasons.

Thanks for your answers! Well I guess I will be waiting for awhile then...

@Wooly Hugger

So I guess I should have Dylas and Amber in my party then. I love this game but this part is really frustrating. They should have made it so the event would automatically happen after maybe a month or two on a specific day.

Yup, but it only works when there is no other event active and their friendship level needs to be high enough so they would stay with you even if your character goes to sleep. I heard it may take a few tries though.

Okay thank you for your help! I have Dylas at level 10 and Amber is level 6 so I think it should work.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that got that event two ingame days later. Is it really based on friendship levels with Dylas and Amber? Or is it all the guardians? That event must be horrible for people who like speed running. :(

I doubt friendship level has any difference. I've gotten it two seasons, two weeks, two years, after the fact. (sometimes more but that would be in-game timeskip, and doesn't count XD) It's annoying how random it is, but that's just what it is. random.

I never said it's based on Amber's and Dylas' friendship level... Friendship level needs to be high enough to make them stay with you over a night if you decide to force a event to happen. You can still trigger it without doing any tricks.

having the characters in your party doesn't trigger the event faster than normally, it just tells you when you can do the event if they say they have to leave you to do errands or something that day. just in case that wasn't clear.

i think it took me like 2 in game seasons which i guess isn't too bad. i also didn't do the thing where i kept dylas and amber in my party because i wasn't specifically aiming to trigger it lol

Really? I guess it was just a coincidence in my case. Sorry for false information then. I've read somewhere it does. It worked for me, so I thought it was legit.

yeah probably a lucky coincidence then! i know i've tried it for other events and it still took me several seasons to activate the event... it's still useful so you don't have to check the event location everyday on the off chance that you'll activate it though!

@anon

But you can't control events; they are entirely random.

Yes, but you can easily determine which day is an event day and then soft reset until you get the event you want. It's way faster than just leaving it up to chance.
