what use are the ores in this game?

I have received copper, scrap metal, and ore stone so far and I need to know if I need to save them for later in the game or get the money from them. also how much are the different ores worth

I mostly just sell them, but some are used by the oracle or for requests.

I usually sell my ores as well.

You guys know that you could break them open right? That's what I did.

I always break the ore stone, only made that mistake once lol.

They're used in various requests, Eileen will want 7 in total for beds...I think you need 30 unbroken ore stones for all the requests that ask for them.

There was an awesome thread around here that explained Ore stones, I think it's in a sticky post on the main page for TOTT.

Basically, each stone has a secret star rank (I found this to be true of snowballs as well).

Whatever you have stacked in your rucksack or cart shares a ranking. If you stack of ores/ snowballs are 1 star, and you add an ore you just found to the stack that was .5 star or 1.5 star (as an example), that that ore will become 1 star also.

So what you want to do with new ores is keep them separate, save your game, crack them open to find out what they are, and then decide what to do. If it's higher than your stack is, you can add your stack to it instead and bring up the rank of everything.
