Hahha, I'm pretty good at finding what I want, but for some reason I utterly fail at certain sites like tumblr and pinterest. And since all I could really remember was something was stated about pumpkins...yeah, that wasn't quite enough for me to get what I was looking for. I knew someone would be able to dig it up though!

I've discovered that Princess's Eye, in addition to know levels, also grows on HE+11. I was playing a hunch while trying to unlock the seeds and planted 60 on HE+11, and I've gotten 6 so far at that level.

Wow, kinda sad to see this thread fading. Guess I'll have to get back to TLV and out of SoS.(Among other games)
At least we know Pumpkins do not mutate into Giant Pumpkins with or without Compost at WL or lower in Swampy. Spring's coming up... another round of tests!

We're almost certain that Giant Pumpkins are a Fall mutation. I personally think they're from Giant Squash, rather than the other way around, and that the lead we were given initally was a red herring.

I'm also starting to think that Golden Peppers are a fall mutation. We have a mutation in the Green Pepper family in ever season except fall. Pearl Onions are also likely a fall mutation. Looking online I've seen no hints anywhere else on how to get any of these, though I'll keep looking.

To summarize my theories:

Giant Pumpkin is a Fall Mutation, most likely from Giant Squash.
Pearl Onions are a fall mutation from Onions.
Golden Peppers are a Fall Mutation from Purple Peppers. For some reason I'm thinking Peach Compost.

The Green Pepper family has 2 branches, right? Adding a 3rd branch off of Purple Peppers seems more than a LITTLE odd. I was personally thinking it was a Goby blend. Although if Pearl Onions were discovered with Goby/Barbatus, it would be more than likely it is Peach.

:!: :!: :!: An idea just came to me! Why don't we try searching Japanese sites for info? I think most of the time it asks you if you want a page translated. I have Google Translate so I could type in Japanese.

I think we've been through this with the set-up of the Green Pepper Family. There are two branches. Purple peppers are part of the second branch. It goes:

Green Pepper - Bell Pepper - Magic Pepper -White Pepper

Green Pepper - Red Pepper - Purple Pepper

Adding Golden Pepper to the end of the Green/Red/Purple Path would make more sense than it branching off again.

If you want to try. Sometimes the syntax can be funny even when translated, and not all things translate correctly. I tried with a page once and had those issues...and it was just Dutch, not a completely different writting system in addition to being in another language. The names might be different as well in the Japanese version of the game. And good luck identifying which language is Japanese, because the language names are written in their native scripts.

So basically, my chances are nil to none?
If Golden Peppers were a mutation of Purple Peppers, wouldn't it be a fish and not a fruit blend?

ARE there any Japanese sites for this game? So far, it's only released in the NA region.

We thought that Devil Peppers would be a fruit blend, and turned out to be Corn Blend was the fert requirement. I'm not ruling it out, but I've learned to assume nothing when it comes to mutations, and to expect the unexpected.

That said, when talking about Japanese webpages, at first glance at a rather aborted effort to look for Japanese webpages, I didn't see any for this game. Most seemed to be a translation of english pages.

I do believe Lost Valley was only a North American release

Why, of ALLL games, does TLV have to be strictly North America? It seems like Japanese players know a lot about games too. I have been bested by Japanese people in A New Beginning, Pokémon AND Animal Crossing. Knowing our luck, after we finish the mutation list, an official guide will be made and THEN other countries will get the game.

Which would explain why there weren't any Japanese pages.

Of course, they KNOW Japanese players can pretty much ace us any day. I was playing ANB on Multiplayer one time and a Japanese player had this 10-foot cow that gave 5 gold milks and I'm like HOW? Nobody I know has done that. Of course most of the games we play originated in Japan so its little wonder players from there know so much.

I have a giant-sized cow that gives 5 5* gold milk, so you do in fact know someone who has done it xD

TLV was developed specifically for North America based on western fan feedback. It was made to continue the Harvest Moon name, something Natsume created and invested tremendous energy in nourishing for nearly two decades, after Marvelous made the decision to yank Bokujou Monogatari from them and release it under a new name. Natsume doesn't have that same investment in and connection to the Japanese fanbase, so releasing TLV in Japan would mean building up a brand identity and fanbase from nothing. That's no mean feat, and I'm guessing they probably had their hands full just managing things in the west. I also have no idea what the Japanese market for titles like this is doing nowadays--it's possible there's either less demand or it's competing with more titles, or there are market forces and expectations I don't know about. For an example, Sega shopped around the PSP RPG 7th Dragon 2020, but the asking price was too high for western publishers due to licensing fees for the voice work, which was basically a who's who of all the top seiyuu in Japan. Those licensing fees were non-negotiable, but western fans would pitch a collective hissy fit and boycott it if it were released with no Japanese audio option, so the end result was no 7th Dragon 2020 in the west. So it's possible there could be certain expectations that TLV doesn't meet, or it could be that they just don't know the market well enough to know what it expects. There are all kinds of possible reasons, and it's actually pretty useless of me to speculate, but for some reason I'm hitting the post button anyway. I don't make the wisest decisions when I'm up at 2 AM with insulin/blood sugar problems -.-

I don't make wise decisions early in the morning either, much less when I'm ill (*coughMilkOnUpsetStomachcough*). Hope you feel better.

So the idea of Japanese websites is nixed. I wasn't sure if we could understand them anyway even with Google Translate if there were any.
