Who is the special spouse for RF4? The previous special spouses were RF1 Mist, RF2 Mana, and RF3 Shera. Would it be Arthur, Clorica, or Vishnal?

There is no 'special spouse' in this game. I suppose you could technically class Doug as one, but that's more a late unlockable candidate than any sort of special emphasis.

I think a cool thing about RF4 is no spouse is forced upon you like the first three games. All of them are equally approachable, basically. I suppose the butlers are the most so but they're certainly nothing close to forced upon you. Usually they're very obvious in-game and there's none that are obvious at all in this one which is what makes it so wonderful and unique.

Worst of all, the forced ("special"?) spouses were often the most bland (in my opinion). That's also why it's nice to have a change from that "easy mode romance" formula for the obvious spouses.

I agree with Docga, I am glad some random girl is not pushed onto you. If you play as a boy,I always thought that either Forte or Margaret was the "main bachelorette" and if you played as a girl,I thought that it was either Doug or Dylas. But I am really glad that the game did not actually specify a certain bachelor/bachelorette.

I could go through the reasons as to why each candidate could be considered a "special" candidate, but in the end that just makes them all equal. So yeah, no obvious dev-shipping here.
