I only have two Rune Factory games, the first one and Rune Factory 4. The reason I'm asking this question is that I'm trying to decide which one I should get next since I'm having such a hard time deciding, and I just want to know what other people think. My favorite, out of the two that I have, would have to be Rune Factory 4. I just really love the idea of having a female protagonist, but the first one was cool too even if I haven't gotten too far in it (and I can't find it so that's why I haven't played it much).

My favorite would be Rune Factory 4. I thought that everything Neverland did with that game was perfect, except for the randomness of the events, but that is easily forgotten as I loved each and every character in their own way. Fists ended up my new favorite weapon to use.

I always say Rune Factory 4 was the best, but Rune Factory 3 was my favorite. What I mean by this is RF4 had the best mechanics, graphics, and playability out of all of them. However, because of the characters, two villages, and interesting plotline (that didn't take ages and have multiple parts), 3 appealed to me the most personally and is my personal favorite.

Rune Factory 4 had everything that I could have asked for ad more. Aside from it's very small flaws I thought it was the best of the series.

I will wait patiently for the day that we hear the words Run Fakutori Fivu.

Yes, RF4 is the best thus far in the series. Aside from the aforementioned random event system (never have I ever heard of a more terrible way to trigger plot progression) and quibbles with the writing, it was a real leap forward in terms of pretty much everything and that makes it great fun to play. All of them are enjoyable, really, but RF4 took the formula and did its best. The result is pretty fantastic overall.

In terms of game mechanics, which RF have you played most recently? It's arguably easier to play RF2 after you're fresh from RF1, just because the clunky controls and such are a lot easier to handle when you aren't coming from RF3 and 4.

For me it is a tie between RF4 ant ToD. I like RF4 slightly more because I can bring it everywhere I go but I loved ToD because of the graphics and the story line :p

RFF used to be my favorite hands down, aside from pacing issues it's a REALLY fun and well rounded game. Loved the villagers, actually enjoyed the plot (even though it's silly :P) and the festivals and game mechanics were fun... except for the Runeys. « Snuggly Bunny » the Runeys.

RF4 was the first RF game where I loved the game and the only thing I didn't love about it (the random events system) was pretty minor. I love RFF but holy « Puppy Doodoo » the runey system makes it almost unplayable at times. RF4 is so much fun and highly replayable! Easily the best in the series.

Tides of Destiny was my favorite. For me, I felt more like an adventurer in that game than in any other. Also, I really liked the island feel of the game, as well as the story and interactions between the characters.

And it has a robot crab monster that fires scud missiles. While throwing up bubbles in your face.

Omg yes! That was such a fun boss battle :lol:

Really loved the boss battles in RFF too! The morphing slime was utterly ridiculous though.

RF2 and RFF. RF4 is the best one so far, but had a few personal gripes with it.

Rune Factory 2 and 3 are my personal favorites. I like 4 but I have some personal issues with the game, mainly the damnable event system but I can overlook that to a point (looking at you Vishnal and all the events that you are in that I keep on triggering that isn't "Your Answer?" :x :roll: ).

I haven't played 4 a lot, but my friend has it. Based off what I've seen and heard it looks pretty good. I've played 1-3 and out of those I've probably clocked the most hours in 3. I just had more fun with it for some reason. The only gripe I can remember at the moment was that the main character kinda looked like a child... I mean I guess the marriage candidates looked fairly young too, but it bothered me that my protagonist could pass for 12. I kinda felt like I was robbing my own cradle when I got married ^^;

Without a doubt RF4. It improved so many problems I had with some of the other RF games and blew my expectations out of the water. It's not perfect and has problems here and there *cougheventsystemcough* but it was a really great game overall.

I haven't played many RF games so my vote probably isn't worth much, but RF4 is my fave. However, my bf loaned me RF3 and once things slow down more with school and stuff I'm hoping to play it and sooner rather than later haha
