I've been a huge HM fan and this is my first RF game...can you tell me what to expect? Will I like it?

I really enjoyed it, and quite liked the pacing and depth of characters. The farming isn't as great as main series Hm games but it makes up for it in a lot of other areas and the festivals are fun as you unlock them!

I'd recommend this thread for early game tips: http://www.fogu.com/hmforum/viewtopic.p ... 65&start=0

Hope you enjoy the game! :D

Rune Factory is like HM, but with a lot more on top of it. You're also exploring dungeons, fighting bosses, leveling up skills, taming monsters, completing requests, and more. You're still farming, building relationships, having kids, raising animals, and all that other HM jazz, but there's so much more to do.

I recently got the game last week and I'm hooked. I didn't expect to like the game as much as I did. I really like the characters. They're probably among the most organic I've seen in an RF/HM game. It feels like they say something new every day vs saying the same thing over and over for weeks on end. In this game you can also go on dates which I thought was pretty cool. The festivals are pretty fun. The story is interesting. I've had fun with the dungeons and bosses so far.

It may have a lot more action and fantasy than your average Harvest Moon Title, but it still feels like Harvest Moon in my opinion. I think there's a good chance you'll enjoy it.

I played RF1 when it first came out like 59 years ago and didn't really like it, so I still sort of consider RF4 my first one of the series. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. I didn't have any issues not playing any former RF games and it's one of my favorite games ever. So as someone sort of in the same spot as you, I think it's well worth the investment c:
