Perhaps you're thinking of Survival Kids 2, which was never released in English? In that game you had a choice - I'm not sure if that was a pirate ship, but perhaps it was.

Covert you just made me want the game Lost in blue....Is it for a console? Because it looked too good to be on gameboy advance...

It's for the Nintendo DS. Whether or not the final graphics will look like that, I don't know, but I certainly hope so.

u did the same to me.... its for gameboy DS right? that makes me sad and mad cuz i dont have that (i have gameboy sp) and i didnt really care to buy it but know i want the game....

i saw a game in japanese in a magazine before with a blue-hair kid and a red-hair kid and one kid was dropped onto an island and the other kid stayed on the ship until it got stranded or something.
the preview for that game also had a making item system, and then there was a preview on an ending where you live on the island forever.

but it was a few years back, but i think it's the same game.
