It would make sense for their heart level to have to drop first, but the COMPLETELY AVOIDING THEM for a season is just unreasonable. I have no idea why they make you do that - doesn't add any realism to the game (who 100% ignores their lover for a fourth of a year before breaking up???), and even if it did doesn't mean it should be in the game. Like, I wish we could harem like in RF4, but I can kinda understand why they don't allow that here. But since they don't, the breaking up part should be simple enough.

I think it would make a lot of sense if the breakup scene triggered after you gave them like.. 10 disliked/hated gifts in a row or something simple like that lol. Then afterwards it automatically pushed their flower levels down to purple or something as punishment.

I wish :/

I know completely avoiding them means not going to any festivals/seeing random events, but do you really have to avoid ALL of the festivals/events that occur within 31 days? Even if that bachelor isn't part of a particular random event or a festival?

Trying to break up with the marriage candidates just feels like the game designers are punishing the player for not choosing "wisely" or something like that. They really ought to change that next game.

@Humming: Remember, some Festivals will net you FP/LP with all villagers. You might accidentally bring up the Flower level if you go to certain festivals. Then you'd have to lower it back to Purple and start the 31 day cycle all over again.

D: Oh boy. Note taken, avoid all festivals and random events for 31 days to break up with someone.

Yeah, I'm taking a look at the Festivals now... Almost all of them bring up FP for everyone. However, I'm not sure what would happen if you gave the person their hated gifts between- Oh wait, you can't even talk to them for 31 days let alone give them something they hate. Wow, this mechanic really makes you take a hit. Especially if you miss something like a Crop Festival that might increase your Brand and therefore your cash flow. That's flat-out punishing the player for wanting to choose to marry someone else. The Commitment Ring is pretty much marriage at this point.

And yeah, doing some vague math estimations, you'd really need to bring down someone's FP to White Flower level if you wanted to do Festivals without endangering that Purple Flower turning into a Blue one (and therefore being in the break-up range). But it still counts as FP going to the marriage candidate you want to break up with, so I don't know how the game would interpret that is the thing. You could very well be stuck with a sweetheart with a White or Purple Flower at that point that won't break up with you because you keep doing Festivals every few in-game weeks and raising FP with them.

I think the BokuMono game discourages being a playboy or playgirl, with all those requirements. :P

Marie answered that the same thing happens in the Japanese version for Rae's dialogue
"There was an issue in the Japanese version where Raeger would not speak his flower-colour-related dialogue while in the restaurant. He’s all business, apparently! I guess that must have been retained in the English version? To see his flower-colour-related dialogue, talk to him when he’s inside the inn on Wednesday.

If talking to him at the inn doesn’t work then…well, that’s a new glitch, unfortunately."
So for people going for Rae, it's something to keep in mind for sure.

Hm, I had a feeling that was the issue. /: Ah well, it's good to know really. I'll be sure to talk to him in the Inn as much as I can then. If I do end up going for him that is. There's still time for me to change my mind...

Oh dang, thanks for posting that! Good to know that at least it probably wasn't originally intended to be this way...

So I gave Raegar small lumber every day for 50 days... And his flower is still pink ; n ; I'm not speaking to him, but I have been attending festivals (and winning some), so that must be why it's the same. I think I'm going to just give up and marry him and hope that someone records his flower-level dialogue and puts it up somewhere online soon. So incredibly bummed that I missed those...

Oh, were you trying to break up with him?

You can't attend any festivals and random events for thirty days after his flower is at purple or white.

I was just trying to get his heart back down to green! Unfortunately I couldn't even get it back to yellow... x: I skipped all romantic festivals, didn't talk to him, gave him lumber (-300 FP) everyday for 50 days and it stayed pink! I know it was because I won some festivals (I needed to raise the prices of my milk and crops) which I'm pretty sure raises everyone's FP so his heart color wouldn't budge. If it takes this long to get it down even one level then I give up!

Yeah no wonder you're just stagnating there. Festivals tend to bring up FP by at least +500 points if you participate and don't win. If you win, you get +1000. And that's with everyone. That's why it's rather vital even if you're avoiding him and lowering his FP to avoid all festivals.
