Advise please? Peridot: Sell or not?

I was lucky and picked up a Peridot while swimming. Since the price is boosted right now I can sell it for over 3,000 but I'm still in the tutorial and part of me is terrified that I'll have some urgent need for it before I can open the mine.
Advise? Will I need it or is it okay to tell?

I'm like Spring 17 and I've found like at least 4-5 Peridots and a bunch of topaz and fluorite as well. I would just sell them...they all sell for that much.
