I was curious what difficulty setting people have actually decided to play now that the game is out.

I'm sticking with original. That's what I played on the Japanese version (for the brief time I played it) and it felt right to me, and I figure I like my HMs to take some time anyways. I know a lot of people dislike grinding but I felt ANB was too easy.

So, what mode are you guys all using?

Original. I don't mind the challenge/grinding.

Was originally planning on playing on seedling mode, but my bf chose to play on veteran mode, so I chose to join him. ^o^
I'll probably go with seedling on my next file, though. If I go through the more difficult mode once, there I don't see a point in doing it a second time.

I was also originally planning on going with seedling, but changed my mind at the last minute.

The early money managing is pretty challenging sometimes, but I don't mind it. Rae is certainly seeing a LOT of my business at his restaurant currently for my stamina replenishing needs, at least until I get my kitchen

I went Original as well. Early on money management is challenging, but I enjoy it. I think ANB and RF4 have prepared me well for this game. I can see Seedling Mode's appeal, so I might try it out on my second file, but eh... Too early to tell right now. I just started. Spring 10th is the day I stopped on I think...

Normal. I think I'd do Seedling if I were new to Harvest Moon though.

I feel the odd one out xD I was going to go original but I hardly have the time I use to years ago, or even when ANB came out, so I am playing on the baby mode Seedling :( As much as I love the difficulty spike on original to seedling mode... I wanna play and enjoy the game

I decided to go with Original. I don't like things to be insanely difficult by all means, but I do want a challenge so I think I made the right decision.

Wow, after seeing that everyone went with the veteran mode I feel bad now, lol. I figured since I've been playing harvest moon for all this time it would be nice to take it easier. I'll most likely play on the normal mode on the second file, though.

I chose original! At first I wanted to play in seedling mode since I didn't like grinding so much in ANB but now I don't mind (: also in seedling they cut some grinding by 10 items less so I don't see much of a difference imo ^^

I'm playing original. My second save I'll probably do seedling, if I do play a second save. That'd just be to speed things up though. I already find things quite easy now, I managed to get my house upgraded on the first day I got it (saved ALL my sticks/pebbles), and even have plenty of spare seeds and such. I'm hoping to learn cooking soon and build stamina up though heh

Dang you guys are hardcore. I am a seedling of course. But that is because I don't have the saint-like patience of most HM fans who can play on for like a dozen game years. I have played 5 HM games and can't get past year 3 on any of them! I have never seen my babies walk! Lol.

It seems like with no clear objective (like gathering Sun Stones, or restoration plans, etc) that SOS could be dragged out for a while and still be fun. I always felt like the game was over when the main objective was completed.

My goal is to see my kids grow up in SOS. Lol. That's why I went with seedling, easily. No patience. :P

I played original in the Japanese file and quite frankly, no thanks lol. I think that's probably why I never got past year 1. My patience level is zero. Having fun with seedling so far though!
