Excuse me, Marvelous. Some of us actually wear glasses because we NEED them. We don't wear glasses "for fashion." My character has been wearing glasses this whole time and people are still like "Are those glasses fake?" "Are you wearing them for fashion?" "Since when have you wore glasses?" Um. FYI game, my character actually needs those, kthx.
Would you rather get this dialogue every time?

(though granted, he does still ask if you need them. blegh)
Okay it's one thing when the game itself reminds you to take breaks. It's another when they used the characters to preach it. lol

Old Hammer... does that make a difference? o.o
Yes. You won't find gold with the old hammer. Or at least, it's EXTREMELY rare. I didn't see any gold until I upgraded.

arg, mine does this too. Except I don't bother pushing my animals outside, so it's nowhere near as bad, but the first couple of times it happened, I heard the noise, and went to see what was going on, and the gate was open but the cat was NOWHERE IN SIGHT, I was half-convinced that my farm was haunted.
update: I've discovered where she goes. She JUMPS ON TOP OF THE BARN AND FALLS ASLEEP. arrrg, it's really cute

Oh my, thank you so much!
An i know that you just go back to the sign, but when i get off of my horse to give gifts it's almost more trouble than it's worth to look for him/walk all the way over to the fence.
And now that i'm a bit farther, it's really grating how rare bricks are and that you can't preview blueprints before you buy them. Like seriously, i'm not going to buy it if it looks stupid.

Forgot to add to my earlier post and I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but definitely the limited amounts of items you can buy each day. I swear to « Harvest Goddess », all Summer I never had my fields full of onions until the very end because every day I went, the general store would have either 1 or 2 seeds.
WHY? When in like 90% of other HM games it's unlimited, why the hell is this even something that exists? Who thought that feature would somehow improve this game? That's what I want to know.

If you choose Seedling mode the stock increases by a solid amount.

It's super annoying, but I guess it sort of makes thematic sense? The merchants have to carry everything on their carts back and forth every day, and Otmar is, err...,
incompetent (have you seen his event yet?)

I think it's cause it's the seed maker. 1 or 2 seeds is enough for 18 more.

Yeah, the only reason I could think of is for the "realism" effect of them having to actually bring stock in.
And now that I have the seed maker it's fine, but it's not just seeds it's everything. It's not a big deal, just one of those things I would much rather them keep like previous games.

oooh! oooh!
I thought of a better reason!
So you know how you have to ship X amount of X in order to unlock certain vendors? Those things can be bought at the shops (hell, I reached the tool/seed milestone just by buying stuff and then immediately selling it back). If it were unlimited, you'd be able to unlock tropical country in, like, a single day.

Urge to reset and opt for Seedling mode rising...

Actually, I've found that while Seedling mode does double the limit (e.g. in Veteran mode the general store will only stock a max of 20 fertilizers a day, but in Seedling mode the max is 40 fertilizers a day I believe) the amount they actually stock on a particular day is still random. I'm in Seedling mode and I've had plenty of days where he still sells only 2 onion seeds, or less than 20 fertilizer.
I do think there ought to be a minimum stock as well as a maximum... but I suppose if I was going to story/headcanon it, I'd explain that away as either (a) other farmers getting there first and buying up most of the stock before I can get there, or (b) delayed or mistaken shipments from whoever supplies the shop with their products. ^_^
