The minor annoyances thread
I have one! The town layout. Like yay I can jump but I can't jump off of ledges and I can go around buildings but not escape? Like I have to go all the way back around the building. Like aaah, I just wish the layout of things was better. I hate going somewhere and having to turn around or not being able to jump over certain things. Also, there isn't a lot of dialogue... I think Rune Factory games have spoiled me, but even in old HM games the characters said different things when you raised their heart or flower level. Raeger still tells me to not go into his kitchen or whatever... well one... I'm not in your kitchen maaaan, and two... I THOUGHT WE WERE HOMIES.

I tried to zoom in all the way, and it looked better - but lol i'm not playing my game like that. idk if i want to keep it - they aesthetically look so good :/
NOT TO MENTION THE MEASUREMENT FAIL DX adding two would make it too long!
@Melody
yess I knowww D: Animal Crossing had it DOWN if you got the right QR code.
i'll try and test it with the checkered one - i mean, how COULD you mess that one up lol

The only complaint I have about this game so far. I never played GB and every other game that I can remember has always had a shipping bin.Beedlebud wrote: Shipping (though I don't think this a minor complaint)- not a fan of how you are dependent on traders to get your money, I prefer the shipping bin. It seems like they set it up so that more traders will comes in on different days for you to sell to on different days, but right now it's really annoying getting close to running out of money but still having to keep all your crops because the trader isn't there today.
I'm not about to complain too much though because I feel like every complaint I've had about HM games in the past few years has been addressed this time by XSEED. Really... just a wonderful job. I love this game.

Okay now this bugs me, too. Elise reminded me of the first girl that I ever woo'ed in Rune Factory and I was really enticed by her but I didn't realize until now how unfair it seems. I wish there was a male marriage candidate similar to Elise ;___;Anonymous Fish wrote:I hate how much attention the developers gave to Elise while completely ignoring he others marriage candidates.
She has two pink flower events, 5 rival events, some story related cutscenes, several unique traits, she is our biggest rival in the game and she has a huge farm and house that is bigger than anything else in this game.
Like, if you are going to do this at least do the same with a male marriage candidate because otherwise it is stupidly unfair.

@Samurott: Ugh. Yeah that's annoying. Also how do you adjust the zoom? I have to admit I never noticed you could do that, haha. is it like it is in ANB?
About Elise:
I have to admit I don't feel like Elise is that much more developed than the others. Yes, a bit, but... I mean... okay she has her own mansion, but...? I feel like that's not an argument. I think she feels like she has more dialogue than the others because hers is accessible more because she doesn't work, you know? Like most of the others are busy tending to their farms or working so you hear the same dialogue over and over again.
About Dialogue:
While the dialogue being so location/activity dependent is wearing on me, I've been doing a lot of thinking on it. My guess is that there isn't actually less dialogue in this game compared to other HMs though: it's just that they now have lines about all the things they are doing (like fishing, writing, cleaning, all of your outfits and accessories, etc), and therefore since everything is based on what they are doing or what you are wearing, if you don't catch them at different times/don't wear different clothing all the time, then you get the same dialogue, you know?

this exactly. By that logic, Witchie is being shown unfair favoritism, because I think she has the best house.Melody Muse wrote: About Elise:

I think the reason people feel like Elise has more development is because she has so many scenes. Rival events + heart events, and the heart events require the rival events, not only forces you to see her in many different contexts, but also makes you continue to pursue her for an extended period of time. She also has a character archetype that doesn't conform to who she is internally, which makes her a more three-dimensional character. Fritz, by contrast, is "the clumsy energetic guy" -- but he conforms pretty well to the stereotype. Elise is "the spoiled rich girl," but she isn't spoiled, she isn't selfish, and she isn't lazy. She's still hardworking and compassionate, but she's also hella privileged and a out of touch with other people's realities.
Ughhh that's so helpful XDD I didn't realize that they could be placed outside (it never occurred to me lol). Thank you 8DKitchenWhisk wrote: fun fact: you can stick stuff like extra storage boxes outside on your farm so they don't clutter up your house. It still makes your storage space bigger, but now you have room to walk!

Speaking of that feature, I wouldn't mind it if it was like Fantasy Life and you could adjust it to go left and right as well. But you can't. So it's kinda useless IMO.

I find them fairly regularly in front of Witchie's house. It's not much but it adds up.RopeMaidenKirie wrote:Having to save scum in the safari for black branches is awful. Nitpicking thread? Nitpicking thread.
1) Festival entering time ends at 13:00. I'm in year 2 and I have all but one of the fields unlocked PLUS 2 barns PLUS 2.5 coops filled with animals. I've actually managed to miss two festivals that I was planning on going to because my chores simply took to long (with the teleporting horse and everything). I was honestly too peeved and didn't restart my game due to stubbornness.
2) Diary icon. I know the map icon for your character kind of has to be the default farmer icon (waay to many options otherwise) but the fact they took out your farmer's portrait on the diary peeved me ever so slightly. It's just a bit jarring because I'm playing a black trans girl with crazy colored hair and the blonde white boy is supposed to represent her -_-;

Don't know if anyone's said it yet, but it drives me crazy how picky the catching of bugs (insects or frogs, whatever) seems to be. I'll be right on top of a thing practically and it won't let me pick it up. I've wasted 10 game minutes trying to pick up one stinkin' thing before >:C
The only other thing I can think of is military time, but I guess this'll just make me better at it.
