My 'solution' to this is just buy a bunch of grass seeds from Otmar or make them myself and just have a toolbox near the grass so when hurricane/snowstorm comes, I'm ready to go.KitchenWhisk wrote:multiplayer raises the star rating.Blue Leafeon wrote:Typhoons.
I have had 3 this summer already and I am only on summer 16. My grass all has 0 stars and it gets killed every time. I had to go see if I could find some 1 star grass seeds to counter this. T_T
While I'm complaining, why the heck does grass even HAVE a star system. You can't fertilize it and the seed maker combo does not affect it, so you can't add stars to it. So stupid.
But yeah, I don't understand this decision at all.
The minor annoyances thread
Finally got recipe set #12 from the cooking festival after 18 times of reloading...since I only saved 5 sea urchins from diving during those painstaking days of finding bricks, I'm planning to dive again.....only to realized sea urchin is not available in fall
Now need to wait till spring come...oh goody more save scumming during spring. This reverse proposal better be worth it.

My biggest annoyance is probably the restrictions on customizing compared to ANB. Why can I not move the house? Why can I not move the table in the house? Both are in extremely annoying places. Why do small objects (like the flower baskets, beacons, signs, etc.) take up so. Much. Space? I also don't like that crops can only go in specific spots on the land, so if your fence line is in the way of a tilled square, too bad, you can't have one, leaving a big ugly gap between your fence and the next tilled space. In ANB, I crammed them in. In almost every other way, SoS is the better game, but bleh, I liked the customizing in ANB a bit better, at least for the farm.
Also, why is there only one fish hatchery? Why can't that one hatchery at least be at Eda's so it's closer to my farm? ;~;

If the house was at least in the corner so it wasn't that awkward. Plus the table is in a terrible place even if I know the reason why it's unmovable.
I don't see why the signs wouldn't take only 1 space especially since they're such small things and it looks so awkward when they're so far away from the path. Everything about the plots would be solved if they were just usable items instead of fixed locations. Not to mention if even if you put only farmland on your farm, it still doesn't match up properly with fences for whatever reason.
I want the mushroom logs and bee hives from ANB too. 5 mushroom logs is not enough especially if you're me and want to have 99 of each type of item in your fridge.

I could be wrong but my first storm only destroyed 3 of my 4 grass plots so maybe the storm can only destroy so much? Everything else was somehow unharmed.Lieicent wrote:My 'solution' to this is just buy a bunch of grass seeds from Otmar or make them myself and just have a toolbox near the grass so when hurricane/snowstorm comes, I'm ready to go.KitchenWhisk wrote:multiplayer raises the star rating.Blue Leafeon wrote:Typhoons.

I'm not sure either. I think it's how much vitality is left in the grass, but sometimes only 2 of my grass will be destroyed.Melody Muse wrote:I could be wrong but my first storm only destroyed 3 of my 4 grass plots so maybe the storm can only destroy so much? Something that has been driving me crazy for a while.
Anyone who has seen my farm knows that I use the eastern motif on my farm. The eastern slabs are 2 spaces left to right and one space front to back. They look cool.
The eastern style gate however, is about 4 spaces from left to right and the part where it opens is about 3 spaces. The bamboo gate is 4 spaces from left to right and the gate itself is placed exactly in the middle.
Problem 1: The eastern stone slab cannot match up to any of the actual gates. It can either be placed one too much to the left, or one too much to the right. It looks weird.
Problem 2: The eastern stone slab cannot match up to any of the fence gates because the gate exists exactly in the middle, and is the size of the paving stones.
Why on earth would you make the whole paving slabs undermine itself? Any of the large paving stones do not align to any of the gates or fence gates even though all the roads and small ugly paving stones do.

i have no idea how any of this works. I've had 2 storms every season they're available (so 10 so far) and have never had any grass die, and I don't cut it anymore, so most of it has lived through multiple storms.Lieicent wrote:I'm not sure either. Yes. Why must the house be in such a weird, off center position? Why is it not at least lined up with the entrance? AAAAAGH. The way things line up in general in this game drives me crazy. Where did the fence corners from ANB go?? *explodes*Lieicent wrote: All of this.

And yes. The limit on mushrooms and honey does not please my hoarding tendancies at all. :C

This and a lot other already mentioned. But atm. the guild working hours annoy me a lot, since they close at 5pm ridiculus! Especially when you do multiplayer a lot or want to go to safari with animals a bit later -.-'. Even poor old Otimar closes 1h later, i mean it's unbelievable right?!Keera wrote:Animal treat and feed bins are too close together! I'm always trying to grab regular treats instead of sheep ones. And this morning I just got 2 rabbit feed instead of chicken treats..

baby spoilerz
Also, after doing the math for exactly how much small lumber/lumber I need to unlock ice/tropical country/the safari areas, I have come to the conclusion that SoS is 90% responsible for global warming. :D LOOK AT ALL THESE TREES WE'RE CUTTING DOWN GUYS. I don't care if most of said trees are ones we grow ourselves. I'm just trying to take the edge off of my annoyance by joking around.

Oh man I agree on that. Even though I bought a bunch of lumber it still was not enough.Blue Leafeon wrote:baby spoilerzAlso, after doing the math for exactly how much small lumber/lumber I need to unlock ice/tropical country/the safari areas, I have come to the conclusion that SoS is 90% responsible for global warming. :D LOOK AT ALL THESE TREES WE'RE CUTTING DOWN GUYS.
